    K.I.S.S ~ i.e * no batteries required * an intro to

The power requirement to propel an average cycle with a rider weight of 70kg and an average drag coeficient @ 9mph is approx 30watts. Each pedal down stroke would thus be 30 watts as well - but technically you're measuring a turning force there so you'd be looking to measure torque, not watts...

    Cycling Specs

I think alot of people are missing that the op uses spectacles, so a lot of the recommended options above just aren't available to someone who needs spectacles. I use ESS ADVANCER V12 GOGGLES with the RX inserts. Specsavers glazed the inserts for me for £30. I really like them and my eyes...

    KTM Macina Cross 400W

Sorry - I meant the motor on the Machina is a geared motor which includes a free wheel. It's been a long day!

    KTM Macina Cross 400W

The hub on the Trek is direct drive, which is why it was quieter but why you also noticed some drag stopping you getting above 30mph. The hub on the KTM is geared, so a bit noisier as the motor runs at a higher rpm and you can hear the gears. It also incorporates a freewheel which makes it...

    Bocsh service training centre

It's just a PWM restriction in the controller, like how setting my speed switch to position 1 limits my speed to 16mph.

    Which bulk charger for Lipos?

I haven't balance charged my pack since October - that's around 100 cycles. I use a Meanwell power supply to bulk charge. http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/9442-new-build-5.html#post125688

How long should my chainwheel last?

Right, so what is your chain wear tool showing then? For wear on the rings - it's hard to tell from that angle of photo but check this pic:- Big ring - worn a bit but ok for a while yet. Middle ring - very worn, needs replacing. Small ring - no wear at all.

How long should my chainwheel last?

Chainwheel teeth aren't symetrical - there should be a shallow "hook" on most of them. Any pics? What did the chain measure at when you replaced it?

    V-brakes. PITA to adjust :(

Yeah - sounds like you have non ebrake levers. Put your old levers up and rig up a switch on the original rear brake (you only really need it on the rear brake - well at least if you're braking properly!). http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/9442-new-build-11.html#post163831...

    KKing problem

It doesn't matter. EU rules dictate that poducts should last a reasonable length of time when subjected to normal use. For example, my washing machine only had a years warranty but I got mine replaced after 4 years as I could demonstrate it was a reasonable expectation for it to last longer...

Euro 220 for replacement Bosch E-bike batteries on Ebay: good Value? Legal to import?

It's either stolen or knackered. People don't usually sell perfectly usable batteries. The old adage applies here - if it seems too good to be true..............................................

    Downhill not Uphill

Photos of the bike please. It might be a candidate for a crank drive conversion and battery in a back pack. Big hit looks like it uses through axles so hub drives wouldn't be an option.

    Another left turn accident

It's only an offence not to report if there's been an injury, otherwise swapping details is enough. EDIT: Doh, beaten by d8veh! There's a good post on Bike Radar on what to do in the case of an accident:- http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40052&t=12722930 Do you have any...
