    Cycle schemes

My employer, Hewlett Packard, got £20 from CycleScheme for every purchase. No way were HP willing to let us do our own leg work. They do similar with the healthcare provided through BUPA that you can actually get cheaper if you do it yourself.

    Rubbee electric drive system

That's the one! I reckon Rubee could be on course for a patent infringement there!

    Rubbee electric drive system

I've seen something EXACTLY like that before. Friction drive is not going to advance the ebike world either. Bit rubbish is you want a rack and mudguards as well ;-)

Does brake regeneration make any difference?

It only works on direct drive motors. As the Bosch uses a centre mount freewheeling motor it can't do regen. The Bafang/Cute motors are freewheeling as well so they can't do regen either. Regen only adds a few % to battery range but it can help with braking - the motor provides alot of...

Sort of - I've taken voluntary redundancy to be a stay at home dad. I going to do a little freelance web design but mainly just to keep my mind active ;-)

    Please someone tell me why!!!

I'm very sensitive to light - therefore I wear sunglasses nearly all the time. I'm sat at my works computer (for the last time - yay!) wearing sunglesses right now.

My bike went dead half way thought to work

Yup - sounding very much like a duff cell in your battery which is tripping the low voltage protection circuit.

    Cycle schemes

Yes I agree - makes no sense for mail order companies to participate in most of the schemes. As it happens the bike I bought - a Trek - couldn't be ordered mail order anyway (I think Trek have banned mail order for their bikes).

    Cycle schemes

They aren't supposed to do that - anyone caught doing it gets removed from the list of approved vendors on the cyclescheme website. I bought my bike August 2011 - the "clarified" rules were in effect by the "end value" point. Technically, I still don't own the bike (and wont until the 3 year...

    Cycle schemes

I didn't have to take the bike to the shop at the end of the 12 months - they just gave me an "Extended Use Agreement" deposit figure (£55) that I was happy with and job was a good 'un. At the end of those 3 years "extended use", if I want to keep the bike they keep the deposit. If I don't I...

    New battery options (in UK)?

No UK options and you wont find anyone offering ready built packs using lipo bricks - simply to risky from a business perspective. I now you don't want to buy from China but there really isn't an option - what you need to know is who the good Chinese vendors are - so here goes:- You wont go...
