    Could this be an option?

I don't use a BMS but I've set the controller to cut of at a pack voltage of 54.75v - which is approx 3.65v per cell, preventing a low depth of discharge which is the primary reason for cell inbalance. I've had the pack built since October and after around 100 cycles I've NEVER had to balance...

    Could this be an option?

Sorry - didn't mean to sound rude in my response - let's try it another way. I'm not very good at organising my thoughts - I'm a learner, not a lecturer - so I can't do what you're suggesting. However I did keep a diary - see this thread -...

    Could this be an option?

It's all here and on endless sphere (ok, more of it's on endless sphere actually) - all you need to do is search and read. No one showed me how to build an ebike. I knew nothing about lipos before two years ago. I had no idea what a geared motor was or what a controller did or what the...

    Could this be an option?

Bafang BPM 350W Front Motor opinions

They are strong motors, especially on a 450w controller. Top speed with a 201rpm motor on a 36v battery should be around 16mph no pedalling. The battery should be able to handle the amp draw. What forks will you be fitting them to? If the forks have allow drop outs you need to be REALLY...

Lets get packing...? is there any one out there...?

Loads of places offer re-celling - inc Recell Your Battery | Refurbish and recell your batteries However it's always cheaper just to buy a new battery from China.

Has anyone ever removed a DIY Conversion Kit?

That's because it takes a lot longer to file a hardened steel axle rather than soft alloy forks (or cro-mo steel forks). You don't have to file the whole length of the axle though - just a small slot where the forks will sit - and it's only about .8mm off. An hours filing should do the trick...

Has anyone ever removed a DIY Conversion Kit?

In that case don't file the forks to fit the axle, file the axle to fit the forks.

Carbon Fibre Road Bicycle /w Oxydrive

It's only worthless if you want to sell it. If you intend to keep it or ride it into the ground it doesn't matter if it's worth £2k or 1p. And I'm not sure ebikers wouldn't want it - I've sold two bikes I've converted that had carbon forks. Never tired one with an actual carbon frame though.

Carbon Fibre Road Bicycle /w Oxydrive

If you can put enough force through a set of carbon forks to crack them, snapped forks will be the least of your worries! Carbon/composite failures you see are normally a result of manufacturing defects or faulty installation. Stick with well regarded manufacturers and fit them properly and...

Carbon Fibre Road Bicycle /w Oxydrive

I've no problem with well engineered carbon, nearly everything in my motorsport dealings is carbon fibre - I even have a carbon fibre prop shaft on my Westfield. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xreZdUBqpJs So 40% more force to crack the carbon frame vs bending an aluminium one. You can see the...

Carbon Fibre Road Bicycle /w Oxydrive

Hardly a death trap. I've been running with Tongxin and then Cute 100 motor with peaks of 700watts for nearly two years on a carbon forked Trek FX. If you're not running high power and pay attention to the fitting I don't see an issue*. *FYI carbon forks are stronger than alloy and steel...

Something that i saw on youtube-controller question.

Yes, easily. My bike does 25mph @ only 63v / 11 amps. You just need a high turn (or wind) motor to do high speed - something like a 14t Bafang BPM would do 30mph @ 48v. Basically, on a motor, voltage determines the speed at which the motor spins. Amps on the controller determines how strong...

Giant Twist - front wheel removal?

Can you take some photo's and post them up? There is usually a connection on the wiring near the fork that you can pull apart to enable the wheel to be removed. Alternatively drop me a mail when you're next at work and I'll have a look at it on my lunch break ;)

    Non-drag hub motors

The Tongxin is quieter than the q100 but ninot by much and its fine for low power low speed applications. That's not what I'm interested in though. So the tongxin might still be what you want, depending on what you want ;-)

    Non-drag hub motors

Actually when I ran my Tongxin @ 700 watts it was nearly as loud as my Q100 @ the same wattage. And it was a LOT louder when the clutch slipped on harsh take offs!

I've not seen a woods valve for decades. Both my Trek FX hybrid and Mountain bike have Presta valves.
