    Bosch Crank DIY, Possible?

Just curious at to why I do not see any Bosch DIY conversions? Is the Bosch System available as a kit? I appreciated that some cutting and TIG welding would be required but seems odd that I cannot find any references to home projects.

    New Test For Immigrants.

Are we not all residents of the one planet? As far as I can see, it is nothing to do with being from a different country, more to do with the fact that any countries infrastructure and physical space can only accommodate a finite number of persons. Overstep this finite limit an stresses occur.

    Test rides

Well, I think I travelled 100 miles each way to test ride several before purchasing mine. Not ideal but if you want one, you may well have to travel more than 20 miles. Hopefully this will not be the case in the future but for the time being it seems to be.

With todays trading climate, we are lucky to have any high street stores at all. That goes for all types of outlets, not just electric cycles. In my opinion, it a brave man that opens up and runs an e-bike shop of any kind in this country. Did every car dealer have a full range of...

As far as I can tell, on the early units, you could move the sensor and magnet to the crank. Thereby reducing the effective output frequency. Software now prevents this. The only way that they could write this out with software (as i see it) would be to compare the known rotational speed of...

I'll agree with that. As I understand, speedo should read normally up to the original cut off speed, then halve the number of pulses. Hugh, is this actually what happens? Being a two wire sensor, I can't imagine how this is achieved, anyone any ideas? My idea to derestrict my KTM is as...

Thanks, hills have never bothered me in the slightest, see them as a challenge. What does bother me a lot are the fierce coastal winds in my face on my commuting trip. The primary reason for going electric. Any bike that can do 15mph in these conditions when everybody else is doing 4 or...

Received my new KTM Macina 29 today. 1st pedelec that I have owned. Old bike is a throttle ebike which makes good progress. Nice test run this evening, flat with no wind, into a howling wind and various hills. Exceptional into the wind and up the hills. 15-16mph showing on speedo even on...

I have a throttle cycle at the moment and am taking delivery of a my new pedelec shortly. The throttle is great until you wish to change hand positions for comfort reasons or stick your arm out to indicate. Two reasons why I am swapping to a pedelec. At the moment, I always pedal so makes...

    The great british e-bike scam

Jeremy, not aimed directly at you but aimed very wide at all those with similar views. Any reason why your employer would not say "if I can get your skills and labour elsewhere for half the price, then that is what I,ll do" Of course this does now happen to some extent but who's happy with...

    The great british e-bike scam

If we want higher volume UK sales and lower prices then we have to support the UK dealers. Choose to purchase over the channel and you deny UK dealers of a sale, thereby lowering UK sales volumes and keeping the prices up. I for one will be buying from a UK dealer. Yes, a few quid more...

Dave, as you probably know, cycling of any form keep you young. They were probably pensioners it was just that they looked about 30.

You could not do that if you tried. Incredible. Always wise to let go of the bike if you are going flying.
