Heads Up For e-bikes @ Aldi

why do you have more than one bike.......

Electric and regular MTB along with a regular hybrid. Like shoes, one pair could not possibly suffice. Motorbikes are shelved in my workshop on account that I find it difficult to stick to the governments recommended speed limits. Not banned its just that I can ride my cycles as fast as I...

    Continuous Rated Output

Was making a point, appreciate that it would be impossible in my example. In my opinion is that a motor can have a max or cont rating. Any motor can be overdriven to the point of burn out.

    Continuous Rated Output

Frank, if that is the case, why can I not run my bosch motor at 10 times the current and voltage that it is currently running. I'd have loads of power with no ill effects on the motor. After all the motor is not rated so it will not burn out. Are you not confusing power with rating? Please...

    Another cyclist dies in London

Forget the cyle lane for a minute. A two lane road originally intended for all traffic. Now, the left lane (nearest the kerb) is now a bus and taxi lane. Other vehicles prohibited. You have many in London. My point was about undertaking, not overtaking. Buses and taxis undertaking...

    Another cyclist dies in London

The new bus lanes in Brighton are placed on the nearside lane. By default any bus or taxi using these lanes will almost certainly be undertaking. Undertaking regardless of the speed of traffic in the outside lane. I therefore conclude that undertaking must be legal or they county council...

    Which are you?

Cold wet winter nights, I choose a high viz jacket with integral rear led light. Waterproof, comfortable and warm. Not sure if it assists in being more visible but I like it. After years of cycles and or motorbikes most people develop a sixth sense, mine is more important than any jacket...

    Another cyclist dies in London

Thats exactly right. If the so called lane is just some additional paint applied to the road, beware. It may appear to be traffic free but if traffic can drive over this paint at any point, expect it t do so. A segregated path is the answer but in a lot of cases this is not possible. I...

Separate speedo on a Bosch bike

I remember cycling in my youth, many many enjoyable rides with friends and family. No phones, cycle computers or other gadgets. Just our rusty bikes. How did we ever have a good day out?

    Another cyclist dies in London

Small sailing boats at times may have right of passage over a powered supertanker. Those with any sense keep out of harms way. The same applies to cycling. I do not understand why some think that their safety is the sole responsibility of others. Just get real and understand that if you hide...

    Another cyclist dies in London

Would be useful, I could get some of my business competitors out of the way for a while. Assuming I don't need to be killed and a minor accident would do the job, I'll vote in favour.

    Another cyclist dies in London

Makes me appreciate the much criticised cycle paths in and around Brighton. I cycle to work, 10 miles each way and barely touch a road. Lucky or what. Thanks very much to our local councils.

Moustache eBikes - What do you think?

Martin. I think we all know you for Haibikes, top notch e-mountain bikes. I think the moustache range would compliment the above nicely. Expanding your range with quality machines. I particularly like the look of their trekking version for town and general use. Keep us posted. Anyway on...

Fifth London Cyclist dies in nine days

Flecc Defensive riding is what you are talking about. It would appear that a great many cyclists do not understand the techniques associated with this style of riding. It does take positive action and some nerve at times but does increase safety massively. How can this stye of riding be...

Yep most of us have and it demonstrates that those who instantly blame the motorist can often be wrong in their assumptions.

Fifth London Cyclist dies in nine days

The guy with the camera had good and sensible road positioning. Had the cyclist taken a lesson from him the incident would not have happened. If he does not change his ways and attitude to moving traffic it will happen again and again.

Perhaps there should be two sets of lights. Move the current lights back to the start of the box then install cyclist lights at the end of the box. 30 second delay between the two on green.

Is It Safer Riding an Electric Bike?

20mph can be perfectly ok on an empty path. On a busy path, 2 mph may be more appropriate. There is no such thing as a safe speed, safer yes. It is always up to the user to ride appropriately. Not all of my bikes have speedometers but somehow I manage to get from A to B swiftly without...
