Must have spent so much on the bike he can no longer afford to shop at Sainsbury's.

Not what I'd expect outside Aldi, perhaps Waitrose had run out of something.

N.B. Crossed with Rob's post. (Great minds think alike!)

Hi John,
Probably one of the fleet demo bikes used by the employees in between presentations. I had a look at one that turned up at our neighbors house, he said that they have about 30 available for events.

The rider of this one works for Mercedes HQ in MK and it is a demo bike.............but he wouldn't let me ride it, probably because I was dressed like a mugger:eek:

He was happy enough to take enough to take my trusty 5 year old Quando for several laps of the Aldi car park though whilst held his shopping:rolleyes:

If he tried the Quando first he probably didn't want you to find out how much less good the Smart bike is. :)

Nowt wrong with Aldi - most of the stuff is better quality than Sainburys - esp the fresh baked bread :) I go there alot (on my ebike ;-) as I like the German stuff ;-)

I wouldn't have given his shopping back 'til he let me have a go.

Typical Merk salesman - s****ing about in posh cars & now a flash ebike.... And not a halfpenny to scratch his a¿§e with.

I agree nothing wrong with Aldi, but don't agree on the Sainsburys comment unless you are thinking price for price products. Aldi good but virtually no choice, Sainburys often has the option of buying much better and I only buy the best.

I don't know what his job is, he could have been a storeman or CEO at their UK HQ here in MK.
Employees can lease cars at favourable rates, hence you see a higher than normal percentage of Mercs and Smart cars here.

The same goes for VW, Audi, Skoda and Suzuki who also have their UK headquarters in Milton Keynes, not to mention the RedBull F1 team who occasionally drive round the city streets:cool:

Scania Trucks are based here too, that would be a my favourite lease vehicle........derestricted of course:rolleyes:

Funny that, I had just arrived back from a run and was asked if I would let him try out my Brompton.

He liked the Brooks saddle and preferred the throttle option:D

You should ask them if they could do a Redbull makeover on an eZee bike - some of the workers go for a stroll down to Caldecotte lake in their lunch hour:D

Yesterday’s Times had a Technology Review supplement which included a very brief review of three e-bikes. The A2B Kuo (£999), the PowaCycle Milan2 (£599) and the Smart (£2495)

In respect of the Smart it was said ‘At first, it feels like having a temperamental donkey beneath you…’ This may explain why you were not offered a ride, and your lucky escape!

Now, John that's being smart . I hope in the end he had zoomed off away with your bike instead.
