I stick with them because they're cheap, £20 a month for line rental, phone calls and broadband, although a recent upgrade to (up to) 8Mbps has made very little difference to speed but has been very detrimental to reliability, a couple of hours down time most days although on the good days it's...

A freind of mine owns a half share in a single engined Eurostar aircraft and flies to Robin Hood when they waive the landing fees for visiting aircraft, presumably to increase visitor numbers and give the illusion of a busy airport. A pity the aircraft isn't big enough to hold a bike.

 Isn't that now Robin Hood Airport or something?

Ah it's not just mine then, it's working at the moment but has been very erratic for over a week now with a number of complete outages. I believe from your website address that you have the same ISP as me and it would seem they're having problems. I think recent special offers of telephone line...

    Indicator lights

Until I veiwed the link I also thought they were "conventional" indicators, of which I don't approve due to the possible confusion with flashing rearlights. These however seem to be a good idea as they simply reinforce the signal given by the outstretched arm and leave little room for confusion...

Everbody must be out on their bikes.

There certainly are "green" IC mopeds available but unfortunately most on the roads are those noisy polluting cheap Chinese two strokes. Perhaps the ultimate in green 2 wheeled transport is for those who can afford it the Vectrix, a full sized battery powered scooter easily capable of...

    Izip mountain Trailz AL

As far as I know they can best be described as basic but functional and inexpensive. The technology used is a little outdated and they do have a reputation for being noisy but apart the thay are OK as long as you don't expect too much. The same basic design is available with other frame styles...

Just had an irresistible urge to listen to Skateaway, I've no idea where it might have come from;) . My cycling philosophy is similar to Django's and I'm rarely in a hurry. The restrictor does occasionally come off my Torq, buts that's only when I come to a hill that would otherwise be...

    Wisper parts swap

Given the fact that the gearing on the Kona is very much in favour of heavy haulage rather than speed the most suitable motor would be one that was similarly geared, particularly if you intend to use the bike for load carrying. Unfortunately it may be difficult to find a motor that gives the...

    Wisper parts swap

Sorry Martin, I'm don't know the width of the Wisper motor. Another thing to consider is that the 700C wheels on the Kona are considerably larger than the 26" fitted to the Wisper, which would result in more speed a but a poorer hillclimbing performance if the wisper motor were fitted into that...

    Wisper parts swap

It's worth considering that virtually all rear hub motors will only take a freewheel and have no compatability with cassettes, somewhat limiting the available rider gearing options.

There is increasing use of two colour hi-viz vests, ie. yellow/orange. Apparently the reason is that a common form of colour blindness causes an inability to differentiate between yellow and green and so yellow clothing does not standout from a countryside background. I don't have any two...

    Torq double battery arrangement

A very comprehensive description of a job well done James and interesting to note that your red heatshrink covering a certain connector is still intact!. I see my requirements as being slightly different so will probably take a slightly different approach with a smaller "reserve" battery and a...

I usually wear a yellow hi-viz vest, it used to be a cheap builders one but I now have a proper cycling one from Decathlon. The difference is that it has a lined front for wind protection, a zip front that that closes right up to the neck, mesh vented sides and a long back that covers the gap...

A lot of people use flickr.com, it's free but does require registration. Small images can be included in the post as attachments, in that case there will be a link in the post to access the image. Citybike - anyone know anything about them?

Don't assume that the bike is made in Germany because the manufacturer is based in Germany, the USA based Marin manufactures its bikes in Taiwan, Schwinn manufactures in Taiwan, UK based Wisper manufactures in China etc. I think it's highly likely that this is made in China. The 45 km range...
