    Hello, need some advice...

    Tingling hands

Try first with the left side, the easy side. If it works for you, then you will need to replace the twist grip with a right hand thumb throttle, about £5. The most comfortable grips I've used are made by Ergon. The Ergon GP1 are not too expensive (the large size ones)...

2018 type approval for EAPC with full speed throttle.

I'll get Morphix + Flud to start on it.

2018 type approval for EAPC with full speed throttle.

We need regulations for home builds. I suggest that the kits need to have certificate of conformity.

You need to make sure that your opinion is not directed at the Cyclotricity 1000W Stealth bike. That one is a street legal bike, with a 250W motor. '1000W Stealth' is the model name which is unfortunately got picked up in this thread. A lot of 1000W kits sold on ebay are illegal. Cyclotricity is...

    Whoosh bikes and the law

Col, most of woosh's customers are elderly, so it's important for them to get TA for their Petite and Gale.

    Whoosh bikes and the law

Col, the way you phrase the previous post appears to imply that twist and go throttle is simply illegal. I don't know if you have read the whole thread, but the DfT have recognized their benefit and not shown any intention to make them illegal, only require that they be type approved. The way I...

    TONARO on Ebay

. I don't know why the difference in price. They were £299 not long ago. Woosh still have the normal 15mph throttle. Current Big Bear and Bali stocks are still pre 1/1/2016.

the throttle is of the 15mph twist and go type. The throttle usually has a red on/off switch and easy plug at the end of a 6" tail so you can unplug if you take your bike outside the UK. On the new models, they only work when the cranks turn.

Cyclotricity rate that motor 250W nominal. Whatever it can take is irrelevant. You should know the subject better before screaming into our ears.

while you look up what exactly the Cyclotricity 1000W Stealth is: http://cyclotricity.com/stealth-1000w/ Let's check your bike out. Can you tell us who is the manufacturer of your bike? that moral person has to issue you with a certificate of conformity. Assuming that you act yourself as the...

morphix, you keep talking about this '1000W e-bike', you should know that the '1000W' bike that Cyclotricity sell is actually legal while your kit is not.

the Big Bear is better on undulating roads and gradients less than 12%, the Bali with its CD motor is better for climbing long stretches of mountain roads or when gradient is more than 14%. Other than that, both will suit your height and weight.

it's only morphix who thinks he knows more than he actually does. However, his keyboard skill is astonishing, I doubt that any member would want to take him on - he'll drown the opposition. Flud is more prepared to listen to opposing arguments. I think he will make a positive contribution to the...

    TONARO on Ebay

The A2B has direct drive motor, great on flat roads but not good on hills. The Tonaro is very strong on hills but not as pleasant to ride as the A2B. Both have problems with sourcing spares. Looking at their prices, the A2B seems to be correctly priced, the Tonaro is a bit expensive for what it...

Go-e On Wheel anyone tried it?

as flecc said, we've moved on to much better ways of powering a bike. where it's mounted, it practically exclude riding on muddy tracks. it may suit if you are after a low assist bike but I wouldn't recommend it for anything else.

that's correct, you don't need to sign a disclaimer because you don't derestrict your bike. Customers who bought a 1000W Cyclotricity kit are actually buying a legal 250W kit that can also be derestricted to use the full 1000W. They need to sign a disclaimer which basically says 'this product...

no, I did not say that. Unless there is a 250W label on the kit, the kit is not legal. That's separate from the 1000W label because the motor is made for 48V 22A. That's also separate from the de-restriction issue that suppliers like Cyclotricity have to deal with. Most if not all 250W motors...
