    New Name for Forum

where did you get that information from? the off-road pedelecers are a minority on this forum. Some may post a lot (eg soundwave) but I'd say illegal bikes form much less than 5% of UK sales, mostly BBS02 and 1000W DD kits.

Which Electric bike to buy its a hard choice

you can still buy bikes with twist and go throttle until the DfT make type approval tests available, up to 1/1/2018 in fact.

I did put the NCX seat post on it, it was very good but the post mars the look of the bike.

pumping 100A into a BBS01? I try to keep the OP away from the dark side. 15A @ 40V is enough for 99.9% of cases unless he's stuck in mud.

    Donor bike advice reqd

if you get yourself an NCX seat post then you should consider non suspension fork. The bike will be nicer to ride and easily 2kg lighter. My Giant D5 weighs 10.2kg before I added the electrics and cost £293 new.

you are entitled to your views, but I can assure you that to most people I have shown an e-bike to, that's just not the case. Most people do not want to pay for things they don't need. If you give it to them for free, they will accept, nothing to do with wanting a motorbike.

it's nothing to do with being lazy. They wouldn't want a bike if they were. it's much more of a question of budget. The throttle costs under a fiver, the TS £70+, a significant percentage on the price of the bike for something that a lot of us don't even need (throttle or TS is only needed for...

Woosh have also stopped bringing in the TS bike. AFAIK, the problem is not so much people don't like the TS, they just like the throttle better, easily 20 to 1 as KD said. The throttle is simpler to operate, more responsive and easily £70 cheaper. I bet you if Bosch fitted throttle to their...

I think it's necessary because about 60% of middle England won't rest until it's tested by a referendum and even if the referendum decides we stay, they still won't rest. It's just heart over mind. The only way they'll relent is after Brexit, the economy worsens to such a point. It's also the...

    Leaving the EU

3.6% of UK residents are born outside the UK and in the EU, 7.7% are born outside the EU. Total 11.3% of UK population are born outside the UK. Quite a lot of those 7.7% and some of the 3.6% have become UK citizens over time. The number/percentage of 'foreigners' is much smaller and unlikely to...

you meant surely to say the strong Euro has made your goods more attractive to EU customers. If you sell to EU customers then you still need EC labelling, Brexit will make it worse if anything. Assuming we use GATT or one of the available schemes to start with before having our own, you will...

no one knows the answer to 'best' but the forum can answer to 'better'. and in many cases, the choices are pretty limited. If you can't look after the bike yourself, then you need to find someone who can do this for you or choose a model that is available locally. Assuming that you or a friend...

flud is a bit argumentative though. We can keep splitting hair but reality is there is little difference in ability between a Bosch CX bike and a BPM hub bike. When you factor in the rider's own physical ability, the latter wipes out the motors' differences, so it's down to the riders' choice...

    Leaving the EU

3.6% of the population is from the EU against 7.7% from outside the EU. Brexit or not, most of the new migrants will be born outside the EU. Brexit is in my view a hammer to crack a nut, but I still vote out because I think unless people can see that we are on the road of becoming the sick man...

Tillson, you seem to make a moral statement on who the NHS should treat. If we were to go down this route, then we would end up not saving prematured babies and force job seekers to do community services.
