    Hire in London - Failure?

BTW, if anyone wanting to start a e-bike hire business in London, Hatti @ Woosh would like very much to hear about that. Investment is available.

    Hire in London - Failure?

it's the perenial problem of high cost to run any kind of business in London. You'd need to take about £1,000 a day in central London to meet the outgoing costs. That's 50 hires a day. Not easy to find that many customers. If you can operate without staff, then you may need possibly 10-15 hires...

    New Bafang Mid Drive

Maybe KD will have one like this shortly. I don't see the $200 premium that Bafang charge on this kit as justified. $100 maybe, but not $200.

    Cyclotricity Revolver Hybrid 2016 Electric Bike - 17 Inch / 15Ah Battery

if you leave your e-bike on your balcony, even if it does not get rained on, humidity will damage it within a year. You need a dry place to keep you bike. Do you have a lift where you live?

    Cyclotricity Revolver Hybrid 2016 Electric Bike - 17 Inch / 15Ah Battery

welcome to the forum, amaroq. Bigger wheeled bikes are always more comfortable to ride long distance. Have you got secured parking at work and a bike shed to keep your bike at home?

    New Bafang Mid Drive

too expensive for what it is and also, the torque sensor will never be as popular as the throttle. Take away the motor, the rest is pretty much a nondescript mtb with a 10AH battery.

    Greetings

welcome to the forum, Stephen. You won't find any chain drive bike with Nexus hub gear for £1000. If the budget can't be flexible, you will need to convert something like this with a chain drive kit: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/cube-town-easy-entry-city-bike-2016/rp-prod141436 The...

    'Dead' Sirocco CDL

I don't think a bike without battery would arouse much interest. warwick tried without success to sell his old Sirocco CDL without battery, admittedly also without the rear rack because he kept them for his new bike. He gave it away at the end. The replacement battery is about £200 for a 10AH...

Kalkhoff maintenance schedule - unrealistic and expensive?

totally agreed and thank you to bring it up. It's a shame that these 'small prints' are unknown to the vast majority of customers before purchase.

Has anyone tried to register an S-class in the UK?

the bikes come with CoC for 's-pedelec' but the type 's-pedelec' is not legal in the UK, the type approval certificate is not valid here. You could think it's an anomaly but it's not. Traffic control is left to member countries.

    'Dead' Sirocco CDL

I would still say yes. Technology improves all the time, a new battery is much better built than the one that it replaces. The Bafang motor on the Sirocco is long lasting and easy to maintain, clutch unit and ball bearings may need replacing roughly every 5,000 miles but they are quite cheap to...

Kalkhoff maintenance schedule - unrealistic and expensive?

I agree with you CW. Some manufacturers prefer to restrict usage of their bikes to leisure ride by this mechanism. I do have some sympathy with the manufacturers though. Commuting bikes are far more exposed to weather and neglect by their owners due to lack of time and sheltered parking. The...

    'Dead' Sirocco CDL

it's difficult to find a welder who can work on aluminium but you can repair the broken join with this wire, form a scaffolding knot with this wire and araldite the join. It's not pretty but it will last for a few years...
