Not sure where you got that from, but it did cause me to look it up. We come under the Hambleton administrative area that had 9.5% more deaths in 2020 vs 2019 (compared to the England and Wales average of 14.5%). Some of the poorer urban areas had it much worse, Middlesbrough (our nearest town) had an increase ofSo the vicar normally does 112 funerals a year, and that year he only did 84, most of which were nothing do do with covid. How did you extrapolate from that that it was a catastrophic year for covid? He pointed out three memorable deaths. None of them were related to covid, but were probably counted as such, by the government, not by him.
