Funny isn't it, I posted the above and immediately only myself and Woosh were left posting in this thread.using computers at work for private purposes is so commonplace that it's the norm. This forum for example is only busy Monday to Friday in business hours and it's always been that way for it's eleven years of existence. Many with a regular online presence admit to not even owning their own computer. Employers know this but do little or nothing about it.
Still as naughty though, it's the boss's time you're using!I use my personal tablet at work never the company computer. And I only play games or look at tech sites and bike porn...
I'm amazed that our resident "Thought Policeman" hasn't rounded on you for your "Robust" terminology tillson. They aren’t stupid. They project an ugly conceited confidence that they are above the law and punishment. Probably with good reason because this turd is going to get away with it and the police will be vilified for finding his wankbank.
There is indeed a very puzzling dichotomy in attitudes to sex these days and you have a point flecc, also of course without these faux outrages, the gutter press would be starved for headlines and face ruin, and as for the notion of expecting "integrity" from public figures, well that is a joke along these lines. It is this whole attitude that I disagree with, grossly exaggerating every aspect of such events, not just in respect of Damian Green but in respect of how anyone is treated in similar circumstances.
It is very much to do with the stupidly uptight Victorian attitudes to sex that persist in this country.

</Humour>Context is everything! I do what I am paid for even while having lots of time to be on the web.
.. you will be spending a full week on the naughty step if my wife got to read your comments.... Its as meaningful to many as Wagners operas are to a few. Now don't get me started on cricket!!I class that as trash TV and despair that such a large proportion of our population is moronic enough to watch it.

The fact is Zlatan that using computers at work for private purposes is so commonplace that it's the norm. But in this country if anyone dares to look at a soft porn image there's immediate outrage as if the crime of the century has been committed. Some in this thread have even idiotically compared looking at a legal pornographic image to the actitivities of child abusers like Savile and co.
That's what I mean by saying it's Victorian attitudes, totally over the top reaction to perfectly normal activities, simply because sex is present.
What is so different about looking longingly at a £5000 ebike or a pretty young woman clad in just enough material to make a handkerchief? They are mostly just fantasies, both far too expensive for the majority, and neither justify outrage.

I'm self employed so the argument with my employer involve some inner conflict and thinking about dead lines and the bottom line. i wouldn't worry so much IF Damian Green was treated exactly like other employees (i can imagine most turn a blind eye to browsing non work related stuff, but wouldn't do so to porn). i also really do not think he is doing his job (which with brexit should be keeping him busy). then there's the issue of porn addiction, i have a hunch green may well have been looking at more than pretty girls in tiny outfits. if I were to try to get on a moral high horse id say there is a boundary issue in there somewhere, haibike does not employ crack addict single moms or coerced illegal east European illegal migrants (which I experience as bad karma). The fact is Zlatan that using computers at work for private purposes is so commonplace that it's the norm. No.Funny isn't it, I posted the above and immediately only myself and Woosh were left posting in this thread.
Guilty conscience everyone?

yes, I guess if I were paying someone £250k a year (as we do through tax to green)all my natural hypocrisy would get going and i'd go ballistic if he didn't do 80 hours a week..Context is everything! I do what I am paid for even while having lots of time to be on the web.
Why would he not have 168 hour weeks the same as the rest of humanity. What is he for 88 hours per week?yes, I guess if I were paying someone £250k a year (as we do through tax to green)all my natural hypocrisy would get going and i'd go ballistic if he didn't do 80 hours a week..
That’s fair enough, but there needs to be consistency in the way we deal with such incidents. We see ordinary employees sacked and their families put through financial hardship for such acts whilst the likes of Green get away with it. The inconsistency and disparity in the way different groups of people are treated for exactly the same act undermines credibility. It is this whole attitude that I disagree with, grossly exaggerating every aspect of such events, not just in respect of Damian Green but in respect of how anyone is treated in similar circumstances.

Now you shouldn't really knock opera, after all it does keep the hooligans off the street!.. you will be spending a full week on the naughty step if my wife got to read your comments.... Its as meaningful to many as Wagners operas are to a few. Now don't get me started on cricket!!
Flecc?? OG???Now you shouldn't really knock opera, after all it does keep the hooligans off the street!
There is an upside to this apparently Davis has threatened to resign if Green gets the push, this is a golden opportunity for him to to a Cameron or a "Boris" and bale out before he cops any flak. That’s fair enough, but there needs to be consistency in the way we deal with such incidents. If Green is going to get away with it, reinstate and compensate those who have been fired for doing exactly what he has done.
Not my bag, in my uncouth youth I was a trad Jazz fan, and played the skins too when the bands doing a gig had drunk too much beer.Flecc?? OG???
Thankfully I don't have a television. Satan Cowell was the final straw for me.I class that as trash TV and despair that such a large proportion of our population is moronic enough to watch it.
