Bike recovery ( for if you breakdown / puncture)

Yeah, for the amount of times you might have to use it calling a taxi firm and asking them to send a minibus would probably be cheaper. Or have a good lock, secure the bike somewhere safe, call a cab to take you home and come back in the car to retrieve the bike. Of course - there is also...

    Johnderh Air Freight

"transport" (i.e. in the cargo hold) and hand luggage are different though. Although I've double checked and when they say "two spare lithium ion batteries are permitted" they actually mean two lithium CELLS - so an ebike battery consisting of more than two cells would not be allowed in hand...

    Enclosed bike

I don't get the obsession with not getting wet - we're all waterproof after all! Best option is some good clothes that are warm when wet and a change of clothes in a waterproof bag.

    Johnderh Air Freight

Some airlines are ok with that - for example RyanAir have this on their website:- God knows why it's ok though - can you imagine a "determined" individual shorting or piercing the battery mid flight. It seems all the restrictions are for when the batteries are placed in the cargo hold - i.e...

    Police on bikes

Quite a few in Blackpool - regularly passed a couple of Bobbies on their bikes when I used to ride to work. Never spoken to them - they've never managed to catch me!

Yup - going to put a Bafang BBS02 48v500w on this:- Just waiting to cashout my 45 litecoins and a decent source for the motor :-)

Best 29er rim for bafang cst

Easily. I'm running a front Mac motor at 2kw peak with 14g DB spokes in two cross in a 700c rim. A wheel is only as good as the builder, and I've found using DB spokes makes for a more resilient wheel as opposed to ones that use straight gauge spokes.

Best 29er rim for bafang cst

That's a good rim :-) As the hub is so large you wont be able to do three cross as the angle from the rim will be too accute. You could do two cross if you use good quality 14g double butted spokes (14/16/14). One cross with plain gauge 14g spokes should be fine as well but I always find...

Do You Wear Full Face Helmet?

Had an odd experience the last couple of days. I've redone my ebike and it's, ahem, pretty quick now :o and I was feeling a little uncomfortable riding it at it's, shall we say, maximum capabilities. So yesterday I decided, for the first time in many years, to go out for a ride wearing my...

Do You Wear Full Face Helmet?

I don't wear any helmet. I would if I was downhill mtb'ing again (in fact, I have a ff under the stairs somewhere) but those days are long gone!

    Guardian article on ebikes

My ebike (+ trailer) replaced the car I used for commuting / errands. We had four cars - wifes Astra, my Mondeo that I used to commute/run errands with, my Scorpio Cosworth (show car) and Westfield (hobby/track car). Now we just have the Astra, Cosworth and Westfield and I use(d) the ebike...

Is it a bicycle or a motorbike?

1200watts, is that all? My ebike has more than that. The efreeride has 22000 watts peak, so quite a gap between that and the egnition. And should this topic not be in one of the new forums?
