    Swept back Handlebars (Design specs)

Nope, you can put the wires and cables anywhere you like, so long as they are long enough and the inner cables move freely, remembering to check at full turn. John

Help us build a better Ebike battery

Hi Woosh the reference to reinventing the wheel was with regards to the OP looking to produce a full kit... why bother when there are plenty of suppliers out there already? I ride my bike a lot commuting, shopping, leisure etc (500-700 miles a month), all three of our bikes are electric. Large...

Help us build a better Ebike battery

It won't happen... electric cars have been around long enough and the infrastructure isn't there to support it, either in this fashion or any indication for the future. The Renault Zoe and Nissan Leaf were designed to allow a quick change of battery (drops from bottom of vehicle)... the Renault...

Help us build a better Ebike battery

You are probably spot on for rental in terms of charge time, though your market will be pretty small. From a consumer point of view why reinvent the wheel (ish) with a complete system, your focus appears to be on the battery. Certainly quicker charge times would be welcomed by most users...

    Ikea Sladda e-conversion?

Ultimately any bike is a starting base, easiest conversion with the bike from Ikea is a front wheel conversion and whack the battery and electrics on the front, unless you want to stick some of the weight over the back moving the battery to the rear rack or pannier. John

    Chain slip

The chain does look a little long - have a quick look on YouTube for some guides. Is the quick link one of the Clarks' ones? I stopped using them (or any curved one) as I seemed to have the same problem, which was cured with a KMC quick link...plus they are a lot easier to get off when you...

Evora 6.6 lithium Ion 36v battery

I've ridden one of these when I had one on loan from Bicycles4u. I was impressed with the range, my commute is 26 miles round trip and it coped with it well though I do pedal quite hard.... the bike they fixed (twice) fared less well and ended up getting a refund as it spent more time in their...

First look at the new Woosh 26 x 4 Rio

Looks good, though too many bikes now have the rear rack too high, giving an centre of balance with panniers loaded up. John

    A new cargo bike

I've just added lockable underseat storage too ours and using an old oppie canvas cover has a rain cover that comes up to where y son sits, as he hates having the tent type canopy up. Certainly the best bike I have owned, Great where we live when you get stuck in the traffic getting on and off...

    Chain guard recommendations?

No idea if the chainglider would fit, but they are a top piece of kit. Really good for my commute on country track and road. John

    tyre/valve problem

The bit you took out is the valve core, the problem is the tube lies flat without any air in it with no room for the slime. You need to manipulate the tube by hand to help squeeze the slime sown the tube. John

    tyre/valve problem

With the valve core out, put a bit of air in just to expand the tube, then try refilling You will have to aqueeze the bottle amd jiggle the tyre a bit to get it to run in, you may also get the vacuum in the bottle sucking it back in, tip the bottle upright so it sucks air back in. It sounds a...

    Sunday Times article

Next we'll find out that motor vehicles are capable of breaking the law and are available freely... my goodness... a fantastic piece of journalism on par with David Walsh's pursuit of Lance Armstrong... The Times continue to set the bar high.

Registering an e-bike as an e-moped w the DVLA

My thoughts too... If you are able to ride a motorcycle, with the loss of flexibility in having an ebike in use anywhere form why mess around? John

Old Synergie bike and its battery

As I recall the batteries, weren't well rated and commonly died early. I had one given last year with same behaviour. Quick test for battery is to get a multmeter across the output terminals. I think the motor on mine was brushless, generic controller (with random cable colours). If the...
