The quoted numbers are cassette sprocket teeth, but as the gears are in the hub there is no cassette:confused:
I would guess the numbers are the number of teeth the sprockets on a cassette would need to give the equivalent to what you have with the Nexus Inter 8.
The 307% refers to the...
The picture on the izip usa site shows the bike having a larger uglier downtube that could conceivably contain the battery. I suspect the two quoted batteries are different options, I doubt they'd be available together. It is all very unclear though and does make me wonder if the bike really...
its based on Google Earth which covers the whole world. As only the UK uses postcodes in our format the designers did't see fit to include them. They did include US zip codes, but that's 'cos the designers are american.
As Stuart says my batteries are NiMh which each weigh 5.5kg, a mere 1kg heavier than the Ezee Lithium. I have three, 2 Ezee originals and and a third which is an expired lithium re-celled with previously used NiMh cells. A recent discharge test showed them all to be in excellent condition...
I wish they'd make up their minds, one minute they're promoting the very experience of driving the latest model and the next...
As a cyclist I like the idea of driverless cars, at least they would have a brain dedicated to the task in hand.
Carrying the spare battery ensures you don't need to eat 3 shreddies.:D
Seriously though, a lightweight bike + extra battery is still lighter than most electrics of less refined design and really isn't a problem.
The spindle on the motor wheel has to resist the the efforts of the motor to turn it in the opposite direction to the wheel.
In the absence of a proper torque arm it is only the wheel nuts preventing this rotation and the rotation itself can loosen the nuts. Nice big washers under the nuts...
Agreed. When I see cars like Ford Zephyrs and Vauxhall Crestas at classic car events it still surprises me how small they are by modern standards despite being the big cars of their time. Mind you when I ride down former trunk routes, long since bypassed, I realise the same is true of roads.
I had a cheap bike that had a form of regeneration, the brushless controller implementation was very simple using six 75NF75 mosfets in the usual 3 phase bridge driver, but in addition these transistors have an integral 75A reverse biased diode across the drain and source which automatically...
At the local Tesco usually 2 or three other bikes but at at the smaller local Asda the bike rack is often full to capacity. The only reason for the difference I can think of is that there is a long hill up to Tesco. Not a problem for me though.:p
An old fashioned puncture repair kit is a good thing to carry then most punctures can be repaired without removing the wheel. Last winter before fitting Shwalbe Marathon Plus tyres to my Torq I suffered a number of punctures in the puncture resistant Kendas, but as far as I remember I fixed all...
Congratulations on your 1000th post Stuart, of course it's only a number, if you're anything like me then the actual number of posts composed, re-composed, re-writted etc. adds to a rather higher but unrecorded number.
Thanks once again Flecc. Your comments about the current liveliness of the forum are certainly true, there's usually so much going on that I have to be selective about which debates to join in with now as there are simply not enough spare hours to post on all topics.
My typing speed has gone...
I don't know how effective it is but it's not the best looking headlight I've ever seen!
I would guess that being powered by 3xAAA batteries it's not particularly bright, either that or it's battery life is measured in minutes. LED's are more efficient than filament lamps but still have...
I can never understand why treadmills have a motor. The motor is giving out energy, the "runner" is giving out energy so where's it all going.
Certainly the buses round here run empty for much of the time, I thought they may be busier in the London area but its seems that is not the case which makes them less green that I thought.
