    Dremel

I have this one but in another box and with stand and flexi cable. Out of the box the switch failed, it is available as a spare for... 40% of the price I paid for the kit! So mine has a very nice switch in the power cable now. It was out of guarantee because I had an emergency job and had done...

    Dremel

Get a real one or at least a clone that takes Dremel accessories. I have a cheap "German" made in PRC one and it is the accessories which are a let down. I do have a flexible extension and you want one of those! You really, really want one of those, it changes the whole control experience.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

It is one (the only?) point where I agree with tilson. Political responsibility is an important issue and the young have to be encouraged to engage in it by voting.

    Hydrogen Powered bikes

It is a "250 W" pedelec (at least the French one is), the directive only says "maximum 48 V" then it goes into much detail about disposing of old batteries while respecting the environment. But how the electricity is produced I think they must have gotten around that otherwise la poste wouldn't...

Do the cops care about illegal eBikes?

Norwegians and the price of beer... When I went there in the 70's you already had to bring it with you because it was so expensive! We went to the supermarket just to look at the prices we couldn't afford to buy anything! I took my nephew from NZ to a Spanish supermarket and he saw the price of...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

flecc got the joke Dave, I was mocking tilson's silly comment. I know you are on edge and you are right to be. All business owners in the UK must be having sleepless nights. This can not work short term, we have examples and concrete proof only from the end of last year. No need to talk of...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

 ... Of course the UK government wouldn't be risking the economic future of the nation without solid numbers which have convinced them of the better future leaving will bring. No estimates or guesses, they know that this is the right thing to do and Britain's businesses will be...

Do the cops care about illegal eBikes?

Doing my bit, back on topic ladies and gents! I ride in a country which until 5 years ago was subject to "political" violence. So there is now a large police force made up of mostly young and bored cops looking for something to do. This is why all the bits I put on my bike have the right...

    Battery DIY.

Count the wires, they are soldered to each of the 12S paralleled groups of cells and they control the state of charge of however many cells are in parallel in that series group. Once the cells are paralleled they all hold the same charge. If one is weak it drags the whole group down.

Mid-Motor - highest assist level and no speed restriction - battery life

    Battery DIY.

Being there for the whole charge, just in case, is the sorcery. As well as doing it in a fire resistant place. If you respect your batteries they are safe which is why Lipos from R/C cars and planes are not, they have been crashed and often asked for way too many Amps in a very short period of...

    Gsm vs bbs01

I think that electric bikes will turn that around and we will see more 8 speeds like the SRAM on the market.

    Gsm vs bbs01

If I was running the GSM on a 26" bike I think I would have 46-32 on the front and an 8 speed 11-34 on the back. Looking to the future of the 28" I would just change the cassette for the same 8 speed and keep the front as it is or maybe go for just a narrow/wide 42. Having the spider opens up...

    Gsm vs bbs01

Describe your big hills: 3.4 km with spots at 10%? I use 42:32 very rarely assisted but have stalled the motor in the mountains. 42:26 when I am tired but mostly 42:21 and assistance level 3 of 5. When I had the 46 mounted I was using all the gears and assistance level 5. I have ridden home...

    Routing cables inside frame.

I thought about this and would cut the cable, pass it then resolder the wires. A bit of a pain but you end up having a normal cable entry and exit hole comparable to gear/brake cable ones. It also permits adjusting the length of the cable to a perfect fit. To be very anal about it the best idea...

Last page in the thread in my signature below you have a photo. I am running 42/32 and 11/32 7 speed on the back. You don't have to go to the USA, my spider came from precialps in France, because it weighs as much as two feathers the postage was a normal letter stamp!
