    larger chainring for down hill

A lot of MTB's these days have around a 44 tooth large front sprocket, so a 52 will be worth it, having said that I fail to see how it is going to save any battery consumption? I've just ordered a 16T rear sprocket, I've gone from 21T to 19T, which is OK, but feel a bigger gear could be even...

Can an e-bike beat one of these?

Just so that people don't get the wrong impression, the Lee in this race isn't the same one, our Lee is a lovely friendly guy.

Can an e-bike beat one of these?

Rider 2 and 3 are the ones from the photos, so the finest time trialists in the land.

Can an e-bike beat one of these?

Well I guess the answer is easily, at least on the uphill section.

Can an e-bike beat one of these?

This one is a hilly one, so some sections should favour an e-bike. Still a lot of very fast downhill sections too. http://app.strava.com/segments/1191137?filter=overall

Can an e-bike beat one of these?

I spotted a couple on two Scott (I think) Bosch hybrid bikes mixing it with the time trial bikes on Friday. It got me wondering if it would be possible to beat a time trialist? This is the winning rider of the day. and for a bit of contrast, second placed man and lap record holder.

    Car rack advice?

Thank you :) my friend has a 4-bike steel rack and it is flipping heavy. I see this one is a more reasonable 13 kg, given in the description for the black version.

Well, I have just gone and done it - Kalkhoff BS10 ordered today

I wonder what the owners of these bikes do with them instead? perhaps they've taken onboard the comments about knives and turned them into some sort of lethal killing machines. ...

    Haibike front cog

Yes I've removed mine to clean out the cover. It is just a tight fit, it took me a while to get it off as I didn't want to damage anything. It sits on a larger diameter area than the threads I seem to remember, an octagon section.

    Haibike front cog

Me too, because that centre bit wobbles as well, even when the chainring is on tightly.
  18. Artstu

    Wobbling??

Mine's just the same. There are times when it feels fine non handed, and other times I daren't risk it.

    Haibike front cog

    This should help.

No you read it correctly the first time. So if the bike has gearing for 32 mph, I want it to assist me up to that, a bike that works with me all of the time if I choose to want it to. Not some overpowered rocket ship that flies up hills and then becomes a slug at 15.5 mph.
