Haibike front cog

Featured Replies

Can anyone advise as to how the spider that carries the front chain wheel is attached to the shaft ?

I have removed the lock ring, but the spider is firmly attached to the threaded shaft.

I can't find a schematic on line.

Thanks

Thanks for that.

The prising the spider off with a big screwdriver makes me shudder !

Me too, because that centre bit wobbles as well, even when the chainring is on tightly.

Have you actually tried doing it ?

If it is only "pressed" on, I will use a small gear puller. I just didn't like the idea of forcing it over the threads on the larger O.D. spindle.

Yes I've removed mine to clean out the cover. It is just a tight fit, it took me a while to get it off as I didn't want to damage anything. It sits on a larger diameter area than the threads I seem to remember, an octagon section.

All sorted and back together with the larger cog supplied by Martin.

Thanks for the help.

What size cog did you go for and how has it changed the dynamics of the ride?

I've gone for a 44t. I won't get out on it until Saturday, so I'll update the thread then.
