The High Peak Trail ride, 5th October

Glad you had a great day! Did a bit of cycling while holidaying there in the summer. We stayed at the lovely town of Bakewell so did the Monsal Trail and a few local routes. My first time in the Peak District but will be going back. A beautiful part of the country.

    Pro Connect Bargain?

This bike has been on 50cycles web site for a while: Kalkhoff Pro Connect Sport 2009 Model Looks a great buy and comes with 2 batteries, one the long range 18ah. As an owner of one of these bikes I would thoroughly recommend it, great quality components and an excellent ride. The 55cm...

New optibike design - pricey, but very neat

Thats the way I read it too, but it just doesn't look as if there's enough volume in the BB casing to squeeze in all that capacity. Also the weight seems too low

In praise of the 18ah kalkhoff battery

+1. I replaced my 2 year old Panasonic battery with the Kalkhoff 18ah (it was fine just wanted more range). Not noticed any deterioration in two and a half years since, although it has had an easy life and not been used for daily commuting. I'll probably go for the 25ah one some time...

    Cycling - On Water!! (video)

Maybe I'm wrong but it looks a bit "Magician Impossible" to me. :)

    Cycling - On Water!! (video)

At the end of the video it looks as if he he's lifting the front end so that the bike sinks horizontally as comes off the end of the submerged track, rather than nose diving.

Using a Kalkhoff Battery with a Hub Motor Kit?

Thanks Flecc, I've used your excellent Panasonic Site for reference many times over the years. I'm a bit surprised no ones used the battery with a different motor before, given the amount of members with multiple electric bikes. Thats what made me think it might not be suitable for using...

Using a Kalkhoff Battery with a Hub Motor Kit?

Hi All, I recently bought an old tandem to do up and hopefully get my wife (a non-cyclist) to join me in my cycling adventures. Having restored the bike to a reasonable condition with a new pair of wheels and handlebars etc. I finally persuaded my partner to have a go. It didn't go too badly...

    Dilemma....

You might want to consider a second hand bike. You could probably pick up a good Pro Connect for your money. They're good quality bikes and totally free running with the motor off, so good for keen cyclists. Also very reliable if my 4 year old one is anything to go by.

    Kalkhoff Endeavour BS10 400Wh

I would guess that very few people, if any, who purchase a S- class bike don't realise that they do not meet the legal requirements of 15mph, 250w bikes. I personally spent about a year looking at the various options before I parted with the best part of £2000 for my bike. I think it...

    Where is Eddie?

Yup, the forum's definitely got too "nicey nicey* without Eddieo. I miss the fiery threads that his blunt and often humorous posts instigated. Plus he kept the Trade members on their toes. :-)

    Permasmiles

I've always found the after sales service from 50cycles to be very good. My friend bought a secondhand Kalkoff pro Connect about 6 months ago and on contacting 50cycles was told that the warranty was transferable. A few weeks later his battery started playing up and when he returned it for...

Found myself answering the same old questions.

Great answers, wouldn't disagree with any of them and easy for non-ebike converts to understand. Pity you couldn't print out your responses and just hand out the sheet to save your voice.:)

    pro connect disc

Sorry to hear about your drive failure. In the past my chain has come off a few times preceded by a grating noise. Fortunately the only damage was bending the motor chain guide which was easily fixed. I've always been a bit lackadaisical with chain maintenance on all my other bikes but apart...

    Storck Raddar Multitask...some observations

Didn't mean to come over as being so dismissive of Hub driven bikes. As always advised in this forum, I really should try some more as I'm sure there are some very good performers, both Hub and centre drive. Unfortunately in my neck of the woods there are very few dealers or members who...

    Storck Raddar Multitask...some observations

Quote: To be honest, my own preference is for center-drives.... Panasonic, Bosch or what ever...machines that the rider simply hops onto, switch it on and off we go. Any machine that requires a lecture from a junior on how to ride a bicycle has no place in my collection. (That remark is not...

Bosch to the left of them, Bosch to the right....

Agree with Tilson on this. I don't notice any great surge from a standstill on my 4 year old Pro Connect S. I love the power delivery, very smooth and subtle. It is perfectly suited to my long distance leasure rides where I can just use a smidgeon of power to eek out the battery but still...

Feedback to wisper (Not a moan!) please join in :)

Don't own a Wisper but can maybe help you with your moving grips. Assuming they are regular push fit grips, if you spray some hairspray inside, you will find that they slip on easily. Just leave them overnight and they'll be fixed solid in the morning. They can still be removed by...

    New! Sirocco-Sport from Woosh

Great review Dave. Thanks for posting and putting in all those miles on these cold days to give us your well informed view of this bike. I think for most of us the battery/controller integration is probably very welcome as it adds to the neatness of the bike and the performance seems fine...
