The System EX can raise the bars by up to 3.25 inches and because it doesn't use spacers you could easily fine adjust the height on the road. £19 on ebay :)

This looks like the kit my Scott Sportster has been waiting for. The motor looks tiny and the complete kit must be only about 4kg. Will be watching this one with interest.

Thanks Flecc, very nice but there doesn't look like theirs much clearance for mudguards on that very sporty model illustrated :). Looking forward to seeing the rest of the range though. This unobtrusive battery placement seems to be gaining in popularity.

The general consensus is that this type of battery lasts longest when used in the 20% to 80% charge range. ie. don't charge to full and don't use to full discharge. However the built in battery management system is designed to stop it being fully discharged or charged so whether you gain much...

Hi Bob, thanks for the info. Did you notice the frame size of the bike you tried out? The site states 17" and 20" frame sizes available so perhaps the demo was the smaller size. Nice looking bikes and appear to be very good value.

I'll second that. My PCS was one of the first ones purchased in 2008 and I think it's as good as anything available today. Magura hydraulic brakes, XT Drive Train, excellent ride, whats not to like? I wouldn't thank you for the increased power of the latest models as the trade off is range...

Great modern looking range of bikes James. If Bosch can bring their battery prices more in line with other manufacturers, these bikes are sure to be very popular.

I also think this is the reason for the shift to 36v. Unlike many forum members, most ebike purchasers probably don't really understand the differences and think of it simply as the higher voltage the better. I'm sure Bosch's very successful 36v entry into the market was the main reason...

Interesting findings Dave, I have noticed this reduction of power as my battery reaches full discharge although most people probably wouldn't reach that stage with the long range 18ah Kalkhoff battery. I wouldn't describe it as riding through treacle though and you still get a reasonable amount...
