My fifteen year old son uses my xtra-cycle cargo bike for his paper round and cycles it effortlessly with no hands, yet I'm well wobbly when I try it. I used to cycle no hands regularly when I was a nipper so I assume my balance is deteriorating with age. :(

I agree with flecc that the high wear is due to more powerful motors. My original 5 year old chain on my Pro Connect is still going strong with over 3000 miles. My friend with the 350w version snapped his at 1000 miles.

How long do you keep it in the fridge? The tesco block I buy says one week but I usually use it a lot longer than that.

I now always wear my helmet even when I'm going a circle in front of my house testing brakes etc. Hope you wear one in your house too. You could easily slip on a loose carpet and smack your head on the coffee table. :)

Other road users give you a "wider berth" when your not wearing a helmet. I assume they think your more vunerable if your not wearing one.

I'm very surprised that the Seller said it was working on all suspension bikes. That type of fitting is only suitable for Hardtail bikes. As the owner of a xtra-cycle cargo bike, I quite like the idea but can't see how it could possibly fit a rear suspension bike.

Don't think you'll be able to find any tandem with the stoker seat low enough for your 5 year old. I've been using a Burley Piccolo for a few years. They fit from 4 - 10 years and are rock solid and stable. Strangely they don't make them anymore but they come up on ebay now and again.
