Just wondering if it's possible to run a 180mm rotor on your set-up. This should allow for more heat to be dissipated by the rotor and not the pads. Whoops, teach me not to read the replies after my last question :oops:

Firstly, have you installed the bottom bracket motor mounting plate, with the knurled side facing inwards? This will ensure the plate bites into the bottom bracket, to help prevent torque from twisting the motor. Secondly, make sure you use the proper tool to tighten the inner nut and locking...

Am planning on changing my ancient Windows 32 bit laptop, for a Windows 64 bit one. Would I have any problems running the 64 bit version with the Bafang controller software? Hopefully, someone who is currently running the Bafang software on a Windows 10 (64 bit) machine, can put my mind at ease.

If you're doing proper off road, then more power is good for pushing through mud and forest trails covered in debris. Gearing and a properly programmed controller is essential too.

Why do you think your warranty will be void? Just save the original settings (.el file), program your own, then if anything goes wrong, load the original settings into the controller. Peeps will be none the wiser ;)

Just program it to your liking with the programming cable. I reckon Eclipse have reprogrammed the controller to minimize returns on failures. Latest controllers are fairly bulletproof anyway. No point in riding around on a bike you're not happy with ;)

Nils, when you do get a programming cable, be sure to change the ' Keep Current ' value on the ' Pedal Assist ' page of the software, to a higher value. This will help greatly with climbing hills and allow the motor to work better by not stalling. Changing this setting will not harm your BBS01.

Just to correct you Jim, the Bling Ring has a better offset than the standard, by about 5mm IIRC.

As much as I find their products and service great, I bought this one a few years ago and find the non genuine Higo a bit fiddly to line up and connect. There's always the worry of bending pins when I attach the cable. Might have changed the design since then, but doesn't look like it judging...

You'll find that grease disappears inside the BB housing and eventually makes its way out of the opposite side. Hasn't seemed to affect operation of my BBS02, so I've just been piling more grease in there every 500 miles or so. Agree, the cover is a weak point :(

I've seen the Bafang software with an extra programming page named 'Torque'. Has anyone programmed a Bafang using the software and a torque sensing bike? In fact, is there even a torque sensing version of the BBSxx out there?

I wouldn't bother going any further than greasing the final drive cogs every now and again. It's all pretty well sealed and protected from the elements anyway. Unless you experience any issues with the unit, I would leave the internals well alone. One tip though. When you are replacing the...

Apologies for the late reply @robwalley Located on spindle side of final drive. There's a protective cover on top, which once removed, reveals the disc.
