Why a Bafang BBSxx programming cable is a worthy investment!

Can anyone confirm if the power transition back to PAS from releasing the throttle is instant? I'm thinking of wiring a push button to my throttle cable to activate the throttle circuit, and programming the throttle to 'Designated Assist 0 (zero)'. As my 'Designated Assist 0 (zero)' is...

Has anyone tried the ultra cheap Argos 700c electric bike?

Not bad for a bike that comes with full mud guards, kick stand and disc brakes. Argos are usually pretty rock solid on returns and warranty, so go for it :)

    Niterider 750 light

Doesn't sound right. Try firing off an e-mail to the company to see if this is normal.

    Bafang 250w mid drive upgrade.

I've found the biggest improvement on a BBSxx, is to increase the 'Keep Current' setting. This setting is usually set quite low at the factory, and can massively improve torque on hills. Of course, some BBSxx units are already custom programmed by supplying vendors, so the only way to find out...

A little bit confused about freewheels and cassettes :(

Thanks for confirming this flecc. Unfortunately, twist grip is not an option for me. I'll probably have to stick with my 8 speed.

A little bit confused about freewheels and cassettes :(

Oooops, think I hit a big hurdle. Can't seem to source any five speed trigger index shifters. Did they ever exist?

A little bit confused about freewheels and cassettes :(

I'm planning on swapping my 8 speed cassette for a 5 speed, along with a 5 speed gear shifter. Don't know why, but I didn't think there were any 5 speed gear clusters manufactured that are the cassette type. Only screw on. Can someone put my mind at rest and tell me if the gear cluster in the...

What does this do? its for the Bafang BBS01 and 02 motors

Yeah, sorry folks, the original link was the first one that came up on Google. Here's the Green Bike Kit one. Basically the same cable, but cheaper. https://www.greenbikekit.com/c961-c965-c963-dpc14-lcd-bbs-extension-cable.html

    52v charger

It can be a lottery, especially with regular Chinese post. I've had exactly the same items take less than a week, then the next time, three weeks. Best go for expedited delivery from the likes of DHL, Fedex etc. They usually come within a week, with full tracking and online delivery management.

    Wet or dry lube?

I think the important thing is, keep it clean, lubed and replace it when gear change problems and noises arise, due to chain stretch.

Why a Bafang BBSxx programming cable is a worthy investment!

Me too, no more shunt modding and dongling. Plus, you can decrease performance, whereas shunt mods and dongles tend to only favour increasing performance.

Why a Bafang BBSxx programming cable is a worthy investment!

Never quite understood why anyone would want to change settings out on the road. Admittedly, it took a few road tests to tweak and adjust my settings, but I couldn't justify paying out 80 quid more than a cable.

Why a Bafang BBSxx programming cable is a worthy investment!

Totally agree d8veh. I think that the matching of PAS speed settings to gears may always need to be fine tuned though. At the end of the day, seller's programs don't know if it'll be used on a 5 speed bike or 11 speed.

Why a Bafang BBSxx programming cable is a worthy investment!

This isn't a thread to persuade owners of BBS01, BBS02 and BBSHD kits to turn their bikes into fire breathing monsters. Quite the opposite in fact. When I bought my BBS02 a few years ago, I found the stock programming to be good for a non hilly commute, but not that great on forest tracks and...
