    Price impact of the "deal"?

Perhaps Brooks should se if they can make a UK logistics centre work? Some companies seem to manage it..

Basic question with hopefully a simple answer

Second battery is definitely simplest way to go, if you can get one. Even the much maligned Bosch systems are quite happy with any old battery, as long as it is a matching Bosch one, they don't insist on 'the one I came with'.

Petition to increase speed assist limit on E bikes

I don't want to fall off at more than 15mph.. Nor do I want to pick up the medical bill for some other damn fool who did it. Not like there are not already enough legal ways to wind up in hospital, why would we want to legalise some more?

    White Christmas?

We don't even need seaweed. If we can see Brown Clee hill it is going to rain. If we can't then it IS raining, or else night time. If below about 3c, substitute snow or sleet for 'rain'. But then, as my builder told me, we are reknowned for having 9 months of winter followed by 3 months of bad...

    E Bike insurance

I use CTC for liability cover, home insurance (like most) doesn't cover that aspect, just theft while in home, or out and about if locked to immovable object. Sold secure not mentioned. Getting bike +liability from a specialist bike insurer is the alternative, but you wont get the ctc magazine...

    E Bike insurance

I think that sux.. They were quite willing to rip you off for £120, and you LIKE them? LV hiked my premium too much, so I went with Nationwide.... House, contents personal effects, £5k of bikes, cost me £188 iirc.. People only play the 'lousy deal for loyal customers' game with me once.

SIMON Cowell is considering a £10million legal action against the manufacturers of the electric bike on which he crashed and broke his back.

"He is considering" .. That is like 'discounts up to'. I am considering all sorts of stupid things, like suing Mr Cowell for bringing pedelecs into disrepute. No wait, I changed my mind...

    Just joined

Don't fret about the crossbar, lack of .. I went for an 'easy access' model (and I can still get my leg over, but why should I have to?). Only downside it is make securing the bike slightly trickier, especially mounting it on some bike racks, or maintenance stands, which can't imagine the lack...

Stromer ebike is the first to feature frame-integrated ABS

The R&M bikes have Bosch ABS as an option, and the one I bought has it (it was the one option I didn't want, but the demonstrator had it, and the price was right, and delivery was instant so ..). It is impossible to make it skid on gravel, but you can still dump it on a corner if you lean and...

    cycling haters petitions afoot

When self drive cars actually work you would just whistle one up from the pool when you needed it, saving on garage space, etc. Bit of a pain that you can't leave your gloves in the glove compartment, or your boots in the boot, but I expect we could cope.

    Newb

Front rack batteries s are popular with (eg) Brompton etc, and help weight distribution .. I'm always alarmed when I stop on the front brake going up hill and then slide backwards because there isn't enough weight at the front to keep the wheel on the ground!

    bosch 620 battery

I thought the new Bosch batteries were 625wh not 620, so it's a 25% increase.. Worth having imo, since us range-fear folks dont like to use the very last drop. The main variable are wind, hills, weight, and how lazy you are. Those are all fairly independent from the battery size, so the 625 (or...

See rolling road options too at https://www.cyclist.co.uk/buying-guides/6469/best-bike-rollers weight of ebike should not be an issue, these things have to cope with heavy riders, the bike weight is in the noise. The prices are a bit scary though..

TK-1 does not change the bicycle structure in any way which means globally majority of the bicycles can be converted without replacing a wheel

Looks like content free snake oil to me, and the actual device is not visible in the video clips. Caveat whotsit!

Newbie seeks advice: hilly area, need decent freewheel over 15mph

Pfg, I don't find the CX motor (generation 2) to be an issue, although I don't push along at 20MPH very often. The Gen4 version, new this year, is supposed to have a clutch to reduce drag even further, but I have yet to try it. Other mid-motor brands vary. I should add that e-bikes are a pain...

Newbie seeks advice: hilly area, need decent freewheel over 15mph

I get less resistance on the CX motor on my Homage than I did on the Active Line motor on the previous wheels (although mine is the older generation 2 CX). As VFR said, they all freewheel just fine ... 30 mph down hill not an issue .. but you probably meant does the motor drag .. ime no, and if...
