New to e bikes .chargeing question

Which is true for cars too of course. Plug your 3kw BMW X1 hybrid into any sort of 'fast' charger and it charges at .. 3kw.

    e scooters - a menace?

Go quicker? 1) pedal harder in higher gear 2) or buy (and insure) a moped, even an electric one 3) or only ride downhill All perfectly legal.

    Converting to belt drive

You are welcome to it. I have had both over the years, and prefer the belt. Yes, I can stop my chain rusting by regular oiling, but that just worsens the 'sprays oil around' problem. Stretch and rattle I have never found a solution for. Belts are silent.. Try one. Yes, you need a frame...

    Converting to belt drive

Chains, even straight one, still stretch, rattle, rust, and spray oil around though. I love my belt drive.. But if you want one, buy one, don't try an aftermarket bodge conversion. If the frame was designed with belt as an option, then maybe a conversion will work, but there's a big expense in...

How do i decide on a second hand value for my ebike.

Besides which, selling via a bike shop inspires more buyer confidence, and less delivery / weird folks visiting your house / etc hassle. Well worth the 10% or whatever they charge. Solves your storage space too. Oh, and they are much better at pitching the price right. Only downside is you need...

    Komoot cycling app!

I looked at it, but iirc there were a couple of places where the local maps tried to send me down footpaths, and the stiles were an issue. . I guess their data source (OSM?) was wrong.

    Locks

If it is insured the money you spent should be reimbursed, mostiy, although at the moment swapping that money for a replacement might take a while.

Viking E Go (AKA Hopper) Battery

E-bike prices, indeed all bike prices, went stupid when lockdown started, and availability went out the window. They remain in short supply, and sell at a premium.

So wobbly wheels are ok then??

So does the click speed match your road speed, ie once per rev? Could it be brakes (what type?). Does it click if you invert or dangle the bike and rotate the wheel?

    Locks

Folding, because it came with the bike, and the key is matched to the battery. Heavy chain to ground anchor at home. But yes, no lock is thief proof, so insure, avoid lowlife areas, and don't get too attached to your bike.

Why so few hub geared bikes with belts ? Looking at Kalkhoff

Seconded .. I would have preferred the E14 Rohlhoff model, but my belt drive Enviolo performs flawlessly (so far) and the small efficiency loss in the gears is no big issue. Mine is a R&M model, but the belt drive and gears are the same. It does take a while to get used to the system, but being...

    Pedelec Law - The Details

Aiui.. It is illegal on roads, bridleways, and other public places. But you probably wouldn't get stopped/caught, unless you did something stupid. I wouldn't, but lots of people seemingly do.

    Standard 3pin ebike chargers?

The South East of UK appears to have got the bad end of the deal! However if it really is free, I commend them.. Just need 3 orders of magnitude more..

    Not used for three months

If the battery gets flat enough, the bms system may not have enough power to start up, which is tricky. But for most of the batteries I have played with we are talking years before the self discharge gets them to that state, if they start from full. Bms seem to default to fail safe, which I...

    Standard 3pin ebike chargers?

I mapped a lot of public water taps when I was surveying ROWs in Shropshire. Churches and campsites were good. Public electric points harder to find, but less vital for walkers.

    Standard 3pin ebike chargers?

Sounds like a good idea to me.. Stick one on every lamppost, with a 5v USB outlet too. Unlock with your mobile phone, just like modern parking meters. Of course you'd be there several hours, charging from empty.

    Don't forget your helmet

Yeah, I'd want full leathers and a proper crash helmet at that speed, and having hit a car while wearing same (40mph, on a motorbike) I can vouch for 'you still get hospital, but at least you live'. Bare arms? No helmet? 70kph.. Hmm = "no brains", Aka evolution in action.

Moustache Samedi 27 Weekend FS Dual EQ

The weight of the bike is a fraction of the weight of the rider. My bosch motor can get me up the steepest hills round here just fine (some work required) so I wonder what the gearing on this samedi is? Maybe needs a smaller chain ring on the front, or larger cogs on the back.. Ok, top speed...

8fun hub motor making clicking sound

Did you solve that yet? Both ccl and laptops direct have the pg279q last I looked, but 27" may be smaller than you wanted..

    Help! Front Brake Judder

And if the bike has front suspension, that could well behave differently under load (i.e. with your weight on, or stopping).
