All done :)

Controller set to peak @ 750watts. Not as nice as the Tongxin or Goldant in sensorless mode though :-( Bit of a stutter between 5mph and 12mph but it clears once through that barrier - just have to be gentle on the throttle. Flies along at peak rpm though and as I only stop 5 times on my commute (sometimes none at all) the stuttering isn't going to bother me.

just waiting for my new batteries now :)

Shame you didn't get a sensored one. They run much smoother and quieter. I tried running my Q128 sensorless and it was terrible - really rough at low revs. Sometimes different controllers give different results, but for high voltage you're limited for choice.

I look forward to some more detailed performance data.

I did get a sensored motor, but I have a sensorless only controller :)

Hopefully it won't be too bad. If eventually you decide that you don't like it, you could get a 48v CON91 or KU93 and cut one of the shunts to take it down to about 11 amps.

I've asked Lyen for a quote for one of his sensored capable controllers. I'll keep the current mini monster for another project :)

One 6 FET 3077 Mark II Mini Monster LYEN Edition Controller on it's way :)

Opted for CA connector and three speed switch on this one.

I have another project in mind for the existing sensorless mini monster - Tongxin mid drive on my full sus mtb for proper off road use :)

Erm always wondered when you are balance charging a few cell packs how does the charger see one cell as it appears to be looking at several in parallel, so if one cell is down it will trying to charge cells that are a higher voltage?

BTW just got these babies on Thursday, yet to try them out.

Nice I have been looking at those too muckymits. Is this for a 24v battery as you have 8 ?

I would need 12.

Are you planning to use a BMS or just manually balance them yourself when needed ?

Are they 10Ah and lastly where did you get them from. The cheapest simplest supply source I have found is in Germany.

Jerry

I like mine Lyen. Though I have also purchased one from e-crazyman which are identical and cheaper although you need to add wires/programming port connection.

I am so glad I got the one from Lyen first though as it has enabled me to understand how this stuff works.

yes both bikes have 24 volts, no BMS as yet just working off Turnigy charger but had to send off for a 9 pin jst as I had none. They are 12 AH and got them from Eclips, but saved on postage as not far from me. Nice guy who owns the place is very helpful. Not sure which bike they will end up in, but for now will be in the panniers (with straps) till I can modify or built new battery boxes. Will do a new thread on modifying Izips shortly, that will get mr Flecc going ;)

Nice one Jerry, Keywins controllers represent good value as I've mentioned before. Loads of scope for upgrades and programmable ;)

Lyen MKII 3077 6fet sensored controller turned up today - already fitted complete with three speed switch.

Must say it's like night and day compared to the sensorless one - motor really nice and smooth and very quiet now. Set the three speed settings @ 60%(16mph on the road) 75%(21mph) and 115%(not tested but 35 no load speed) - yes - over speed works :)

Also managed to rig a transponder circuit up - the bike cannot be brought out of mode one if I'm more than 5m away from it :)

Amigafan2003, it would be nice if you could give a bit more info about your bike for those that haven't followed your build from the begining - like a sort of mini review. I'm interested in how the Q100 performs relative to the Tongxin, and what sort of performance you're getting out of it now (hill-climbing, speed, range, etc.), and stick some nice photos of your bikes in your profile.
