I can balance my Lafree on the back wheel pretty easily (I mean standing next to it, not riding), so you could probably weigh it that way without picking it up. And you don't have to be naked!

Just for the record, I actually got a correct weight of my 123 kg scooter using two bathroom scales with the front wheel on one scale and the rear on the other adding the weights together. (of course, I already knew the weight, so it was just confirming it).

OK the bike landed at 6:30. It looks great but it weighs in at just under 26 kilos on my scales, anyway I am going back to bed now.

But we are all desperately waiting for a road test....how can you sleep?

Yes Harry exactly, the entire pedelec community is waiting for Daniel to take it for a spin and he wants to sleep. Me I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for Santa:(

When you have 3 kids and a battery that takes four hours for its first charge sleep is easy.

Anyway there is a problem at 5foot 6 my feet are nowhere near the floor with the seat at its lowest setting my wife who is 5 foot 8 can only just touch the floor. I will need to get the smaller model the 53 is too big!!

50cycles had said this would be OK, but I suppose that is the downside of buying online.

Yes, the size of riders is all wrong, I'm 6 foot and I was going to order the 57cm bike which should have been right for me, but was advised it would be too big, I ordered the 53cm frame instead. That must be really annoying for you and yet another problem that 50cycles need to correct on their website or a lot more people will have this problem:(

Back to the weight issue, I see that the 50cycles website has just been changed to read bike weight 23Kg, battery weight 2.4Kg and the total weight has been removed this makes a total of 25.4Kg which is in the ballpark of the weight Daniel recorded on the 53cm medium framed model:rolleyes: Next will be frame sizes I supose.

I think an apology on the website to all those who have been mislead regarding frame size and weight would be the least they could do.

The one that they were supposed to be bringing to me to try out had better be a smaller one, since I'm 5' 6" too. That size of frame and a test will hardly be possible without a change to a rigid seat stem.

Hi, we based the weight on the delivery note from the manufacturer which states 23kg for each bike. Here's a scan of the relevant line below for our first two sample bikes:

So I based the specs page on this. They must be using packaging with a negative weight to save on shipping costs ;) It's corrected now, sorry about the confusion. It certainly feels lighter than my Forte which weighs in around 26kg.

Well I spoke to Scott and the bike is being colelcted, I will now have to wait untill feb for the 47cm version.

The bike quality looked great and I would not be put off by the weight.

However if you like to be able to put both feet on the ground when seated you need to be 5 foot 8 minimum in my opinion.

Or change the seat post for a rigid one, which I'd prefer anyway. It's already fitted with a comfort saddle, so scarcely needs seat post springing, which never operates on my 11 stones/70 kilos anyway.

There's never been a published photo of me anywhere in my lifetime, giving rise to postings drawing parallels with The Stig.

Isn't that right John? ;)

I am 5' 6" tall with a 28 inch inside leg (that's why I have trouble getting trousers to fit me)
Your inside leg measurement is the most important, but it's never mentioned, just your height. Someone who is 6' 6" but has a small inside leg measurement would buy a frame for their height but find it completely unsuitable, I think frames should be quoted against inside leg measurement; forget about height.

I see as I expected 50cycles have now chaged the frame size section of the KalKhoff page to Large, Medium and Small, with no mention of the riders height, less misleading I suppose.

I think 50Cycles should take responsibility for what they post on their website - I've said so before.
They should:
1. Write to every customer (by recorded delivery) who has ordered and/or been delivered an Agutta Pedelec apologising for THEIR error.
2. Offer to cancel the order or take the cycle(s) back and refund any payment made.
3. Offer to cover the cost of returning the cycle to Loughborough.

Then and ONLY then will they be able to truly say they really have a "GOOD NATURE".
It may seem like "commercial suicide" but whilst we are using metaphors what they have done (as in the case of my MISREPRESENTED Chopper, never mind the error in offering a GUARANTEE when in the recesses of their mind it was a WARRANTY and they still have not declared that the Battery Warranty is for ONLY 6 MONTHS on the Specification which misleads with "ONE YEARS PARTS AND REPAIRS") IS "Commercial murder".
Fat Chance!

Same problem Derrick, same height, inside leg between 28" and 29", but with a seamstress mother I learnt to sew and use sewing machines at a very early age, so can correct the trousers.

Reading all the posts about the Agattu and the criticism of 50Cycles, reminded me why I gave up dealing with the public in another life and switched to industry; as soon as some people spend more than £2.50 they demand perfection and are generally unreasonable and not prepared to accept honest error. The electric bikes industry is relatively new, and companies are to be encouraged, not beaten over the head all the time.
Sorry if this post is a bit pointed but that`s my view the destructive comments made towards 50C. and other emeging/growing companies.
