Persona non Grata(s) - for sale or hire

Peter

They had to declare me "Persona non Grata"

Can I have one of those?

Chris:D :D
Of course you can Chris.
Just mention to 50 Cycles that you noted a misrepresentation on the specification on their website. Wait for an answer that makes no concession to you. Persevere with your disappointment. Formalize a complaint. Make an accommodating offer to them that will cost them nothing to implement. Send three or four reminders.
Wait until you receive a rude reply like "We are trying to see the wood from the trees here" and "What do you want from us?"
Eventually motor to Loughborough to challenge them about a replacement battery promised by Mr. Ching of eZee Cycles which they had not bothered to advise you of after one week ("we don't take instructions from Mr. Ching")
Buy two NEW Sprint Cycles from them so that you can "be kept on the road".
Discover that they are in fact USED demonstration models.
Point this out to 50 Cycles.
If they don't give you a 'Persona non Grata' ("we will not let you take advantage of our good nature") you can have mine.

it's not the bike that bothers me particularly, I'm sure it will be fine, just not quite so fine as it was hyped to be.
What does bother me is the company selling it and their after sales service. I am happy that the bike comes with 2 years warranty on the bike and battery, but that warranty is only as good as the company providing it. Long pause for a barrage of plaudites for you know who.

That's it from me on this thread, starting to get a headache. I'm on holiday this week and I need to get away this laptop.

Well guys,I suppose I deserve your comments in view of my posts.
No I do not work for 50Cycles-but I did build various manufacturing companies from scratch to become most profitable (of their type) in Europe, and thus suspect that I understand problems and what customers are (a major pain without which life would be a dream;) )
Complaining is an art - some people are good at it,whilst others alienate all around!
Hows this for a pompus post then ?:D :D

You are sooooooo lucky John: what fantastic timing.
Can I come too?

About the bike: I am determined to wait for the devilish detail from the Test. Let's hope that the profile of the tester and of the route will be posted with it and a 'scientific' analysis of the power (battery) consumption: not just "and it had loads of miles left in it at the end". Perhaps ride it to exhaustion even if it takes 80 km (fear nought!).

If that's referring to the A to B test, not very fair. They do ride the full range to empty or almost empty and regularly report as such on their tests. For example they rode the Brompton Nano to empty at 48 miles, one could hardly ask more. They are also very detailed in their test reports on many aspects like terrain, riders pedalling contribution etc., and from that detail I was easily able to determine that the rider was a major factor in that Brompton Nano range.

Since the tester is always stated, and is usually David or Peter Henshaw, both published as powerful riders and seen to be around 75 kilos from their photos, there's no need for the profiles to be repeated in every issue since it is a subscription magazine with a regular readership who know the authors sufficiently.

Is it just me?

Hi everyone who is contributing to this increasingly hilarious thread. Is it just me or is the whole Agutta saga beginning to resemble a collection of widowers fighting over the attention of a, what would now appear to be, a slghtly overweight eligible German widow... Another thought.. does this bike actually exist. First we have Aldby who promised a review within hours but who has now abandoned us for a holiday (How dare he!). Then we have the mighty Flecc who appears to be a little less mighty than first assumed..compromised in the trouser length department ( like myself I must admit) but now unable to review the charms of this fair lady. Also another contributer whose name eludes me (so many small people on this forum??) who is also too vertically challenged to ride the b****y thing. Can we please find someone tall enough to post a decent review before half the population of middle and late middle aged men (I include myself in this demographic!) commit to this risky union.

David of A to B magazine is just about tall enough, and his review will be out in about 6 days time. Not long to wait for a flaxen teutonic maiden.

I hear there's a lengthy German operatic saga of the 'Kalkhoff agattu' electric bike being composed as we speak - a world first! ;) :D (flaxen teutonic maidens please apply to AtoB) ;) :D.

Sorry Flecc. I was not referring to A to B whose tests are comprehensive and I am agog to read theirs when it is published (If I can get past the front cover).
I was hoping I was offering advice to the many Forum members who have promised to report their findings when they ride it. The more reports we have the more we (I) will be able to identify with someone who has got a similar profile to mine. O.F.I.T.G.

Understood Peter, thanks.

Being quite short, I really need a small enough one before I can try it, so it will be a few days yet before I'll be able to give a view and A to B's review will be in by then.

I still think it will struggle to be anything other than good, given the content and price.
