I can't see BJ going back to No10 in my lifetime.
There is precious little time left between now and the next general election when Starmer is more likely to form a government.
The only way that Liz Truss' economic policy would work is like Patrick Minford said, let the market decides, low taxes to attract investors and the BoE will push interest rate to 7%. The last time interest rate was that high was 1992. Back then, mortgage rate was above 8%. Just think about how it would affect property price, together with low taxes, the two cornerstones of conservative values. Truss gives priority to low taxes and neglects property values. That would affect middle income earners who are more easily persuaded to vote for soft Labour like Blair in 1997.

Oddly as a labour voter with some property that (high interest rates, property market crash) represents an ideal outcome, the reset the economy, country need as far as i see it - where the young and economically active can make their way and the stranglehold of the baby boomers via artificially inflated asset prices (to escape a market correcting crash in 08 that should have happened) has been removed
Edit - and, and I realise this may sound oddly conservative with a small c, the kick in the arse, Darwin awards the conservative party and red wall membership have been begging for, richly deserve

That won't stop him trying though, and if Truss's policies mess up with her appeal gone, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Tories panic him back into leadership.
We certainly need a change, but without the Scottish vote a hung parliament is still in prospect. It needs a huge swing of the English conservative vote to give Labour the clear overall control they'd need to rule effectively.

No problem, cabinet ministers don't have to be from the ruling party. They can be from any elected party or be independent, or from the House of Lords if they insist on them being Conservatives, though anyone from there is valid too.

Now he's an independent, Jeremy Corbyn could be the Tory's transport minister, completing the rail nationalisation that Grant Shapps started with Northern Rail.
Diane Abbott could take Education, and Stella Creasy could be Culture minister.

I like what she said about BJ's achievements just now at the door of No10: delivered brexit, covid vaccine and support for Ukraine. Compare that to what BJ said himself yesterday at the same place. Not a huge endorsement from Truss for his 3 years of tenure and at considerable cost to us all.
