The argument isnt about wether Franco was or wasnt a Fascist (in reality his links to tradition and the Church prove he wasnt) its about the EU's contribution to the demise of Fascism, which is obviously zero, infact the EU has almost certainly contributed to the recent rise of the right wing in Italy and Spain. As to wether these are Fascist is debatable and irrelevant.

Becuse OG said he was, many think same, but he wasnt. Just Google it. Fascists do not reinsate church, tradition and monarchs. But its nothing to do with EU. Somebody posted EU had rid Europe of Fascism, which they did not. End of. EU has only fostered right wing, as in Vox in Spain, with their open border policies and such.
Franco being a fascist or not was an argument between OG and myself, but OT. He wasnt but EU has done nothing towards eliminating fascism in Europe.
We can thank all the soldiers, airmen and sailors who died in WW2 for defeating fascism, not EU. Had those sacrifices not been made Europe would even now be a fascist dictatorship. Fact it isnt has got nothing whatsoever to do with EU.
Like I said a couple of pages ago, Fascism was defeated in 1945,OG for some reason disagrees with that. But thats OG,saying Franco was a fascist, until 1975,which is rubbish.

I went out shopping today in the next town. I visited a couple of pound shops, every charity shop I could find and Greggs to fill up with grub and do you know I never saw a single solitary Fascist. Looked everywhere even in Wilko's, but no not a Fascist in sight. Perhaps they're all up north because there's none here on the south coast.
There again maybe the EU eradicated them all, what do you think?

They don't look like fascists, they behave like fascists if given the opportunity. And it's electorates that can give them that opportunity.
Despite what some think in here, we have plenty of potential fascists, as do all countries. Fortunately they only rarely get a chance to practice their beliefs.

No, nothing to do with the EU. We have just as many potential fascists, but only appear to have less because of our culture, being mostly less up front with our feelings.
I've known some personally, the worst one not just fascist but Nazi and a Hitler admirer as well. He had a huge range of nazi memorabilia and a nazi uniform which he liked to dress up in within his North London home.
But the weirdest thing of all is that he was Jewish. Just what poisoned him so much against his own people was never forthcoming.

My take: it seems to me pretty clear that Corbyn is trying to keep as many Labour supporters as he can. And a promise to have another vote is going to cause all sorts of trouble with that.
Remember in order to implement his socialist paradise he really wants us as far away from EU regulations as possible.
