I can never remember such a desperate time in politics.
'tillson', I agree but I have been out of the loop recently and missed the tale you have related about a female Labour MP although I'm happy to accept from you that the story is true.
There is no defence for such behaviour and I would dearly like to see her deselected but that is a matter for her constituents and we know that in most parts of the country, the electorate has no interest in politics except at election time, if they can be bothered to pop into a polling station to cast a vote.
Her constituency is part of the borough of Enfield and that combined part of north London has a massive non-white population, the constituency being represented by New Labour in the form of the Blairite, Andy Love, till he stood down three years ago. Osamor was duly elected in the 2015 GE, increasing the majority for Labour. I would guess that any future political representative for the Edmonton constituency will be of foreign extraction, whether British-born or not and I have no problem with that, given the demographic of that area.
Having looked briefly at a report of the incident to which you refer, I have a difficulty understanding why she wasn't charged with any offence. There seems to be a great reluctance on the part of the police to prosecute MPs for behaviour that would attract a summons for most ordinary mortals.
On the matter of this woman employing her son in a role in the HoC, I am aware that there is a lot of that goes on and it is high time legislation was introduced to curb it.
It is purely nepotism and provides a large financial inducement - that is why there is so much of it.
