Not surprising really, considering the characters involved
From Open Democracy.org

Theresa May’s director of communications, Robbie Gibb, has re-opened suspicions that British intelligence bugged European Union officials during Brexit talks. Gibb revealed to an audience of senior business figures that Downing Street held “intelligence, including pages and pages of transcriptions of conversations” and knew “what the Europeans are thinking”.

Details of Gibb’s comments to the Enterprise Forum in London earlier this week, which have been obtained by openDemocracy, are understood to have been passed to the office of Michel Barnier, the European Commission’s chief Brexit negotiator.

EU officials, given a full account of what Gibb told the private business gathering, are said to be privately “furious” that Number 10 appeared to be boasting about covert surveillance, rather than the agreed Brexit deal, according to a source connected to Barnier’s deputy, Sabine Weyand.

In August this year Weyand is reported to have privately told the European Council’s Article 50 Working Party to not rule out that British intelligence had penetrated EU private meetings, which evaluated progress on the Brexit talks.

Although the European Commission made no formal comment and lodged no official complaint, there was internal disquiet in Brussels that GCHQ, or another division of British intelligence, had obtained a highly sensitive PowerPoint presentation which offered a critical assessment of Britain’s plans to stay aligned to EU rules.

The document was allegedly obtained the day before May’s Brexit plan was presented to her cabinet at Chequers in July. Later reports suggested that the UK had lobbied at the “highest level” to prevent the European Commission from releasing any negative documents.

You can, it's very easy. Hover over your user name on the menu bar, then click People You Ignore from the right hand list

Then in the box that appears enter the user name you want to ignore exactly as it appears in the forum. When the confirmation of that name appears below, click Save.

From then on their posts won't appear to you.

What's the fun in that?
Clearly you're not up to speed with Bell Clan philosophy!
Let me sum it up for you

Masochist cries "Beat me! beat me!"
Sadist responds "No"

Style of thing
And today is St Andrews Day!!!

Surely J & G should simply take back their sovereignty, regain control of their borders, claim 200 mile fishing limits, and so on?
Actually something like that could be the position if we leave the EU.

The Crown Dependencies enjoy EU borderless access and have many other membership privileges and responsibilities, despite not being in the EU or the UK. They can even export into the EU without the goods landing in their dependency.

But all that is wholly dependent on the UK being a member of the EU and automatically ceases if we leave.

Dependencies like the Isle of Man are now waiting anxiously to see what provisions will be made for them, while frustratingly not being able to commence inquiries until the UK makes up its mind.

a vote of no confidence in TM's government after she fails to get her deal approved a second time is the best next step and requires only a simple majority. After that, the tories have 14 days to form a majority. If they can't, then a GE is automatically triggered and the vote is 25 days after the 14 days.
Assuming everything goes according to JC's fastest route to GE, TM loses on the 11th, second vote is 7th Jan, no confidence 14th Jan, GE triggered 28 Jan, vote on Thursday 21 Feb.
The next best step if you want a Labour government,As you run a business are you sure you want Corbyn’s tax and spend policies?

We kind of knew the EU would punish us for leaving but what is surprising is the way Ireland is acting like the little kid in the playground who hangs around with the bully and says 'hit him again'.

I kind of hope it is no deal tbh. It's cleaner and we can start with a fresh slate. Best all round. Plus we keep the £39 billion.
Hammond said we still need to pay the £39billion even with no deal

he'd tax peole who are ways richer than me. Although I am between LibDem and conservative, I have nothing to fear a JC's administration.

Sir Philip is on the right lines. I've been following the effect of Brexit on the Crown Dependencies for some while since I was aware of their EU status. A Brexit deal could result in some of them being in impossible situations while still linked to the UK, but it's such a mess that no-one can tell yet.

Faith in the BBC is being eroded when such accusations are not merely raised, but on occasion proven true.
It's long past time that the BBC lost its franchise and the taxpayers' compulsory fees.

Aldous Huxley and George Orwell wrote in the 20th century of a dystopian future which seems to be coming to fruition under the Plutocracy/Oligarchy which has replaced democracy in the UK. Because of 'Brexit', the UK is becoming a country with no future and will slowly wither on the vine if it leaves the EU.
