In Feburary, China was the most seriously affected region. and if Chinese embassy officials visited the factory in Lyon , it just showed how seriously they were treating the situation. The question the Guardian did not ask is how many visits were there from senior UK officials ? . Remember the UK waited until END OF MARCH to even acknowledge a problem... and that was because the FA and WRU had already made decisions. Actually, what the French did is just human nature. For all of our faults, and we have plenty, I don’t think the British would pull a stunt like that.
The British vaccine which is showing so much early promise and if successful, will most likely be sold to the French, and other nations at or close to, cost price. It could be sold at a price which would fill the economic hole left by Coronavirus, but we tend to be more benevolent than that. We can not say the same about the French, they would capitalise on the Virus, as illustrated in your article.
Their actions should depend on what the contract terms were/are. We are being told that the contract required them to supply the UK without any ifs, buts or maybes. If the company accepted those terms, they should have supplied us regardless who else came along and demanded preferential treatment. If they did not want to accept the terms, they should have rejected the contract. I am sure there must have been some consideration in the contract to assure our place in the queue so what did we pay for? Thirteenth in the queue, if we are lucky?

Predating in some ways makes it even worse. Yes, we know we have contracts with China and Taiwan, but we'll still sign another one which we won't, indeed, can't, honour.
