    Bafang BBS02B - If Carlsberg made mid-drive e-bike motors...

Hehe. It's a thought. I wonder whether the sheer weight of that hunk of HD motor might be somewhat counter productive to the power to weight ratio, and perhaps a slight overkill! Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

    Bafang BBS02B - If Carlsberg made mid-drive e-bike motors...

Other threads on here explain so I won't go into it again, but this motor is completely EAPC compatible and UK road legal, runs at 15A with a continuous 250W of power and is rated as such. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

    Bafang BBS02B - If Carlsberg made mid-drive e-bike motors...

Of course. Basically it's a more durable and versatile model of the BBS01B. I just get excited about the little things! Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

    Bafang BBS02B - If Carlsberg made mid-drive e-bike motors...

Sort of but kinda not. This is how they come from factory. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

    Bafang BBS02B - If Carlsberg made mid-drive e-bike motors...

True, but they've got pretty good green credentials, will that do? ;)

    Bafang BBS02B - If Carlsberg made mid-drive e-bike motors...

...I think they would be a little something like this :)

can you change spindle length on bbs mid drive motors?

I think that's a no. I think you'd have to buy another motor with that specific length axle (options as stated above by kinninvie). Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

Need advice for installing motor on a 'beer bike'

Hi Corie, Thought I'd add a photo of the vehicle in question in case anyone can put forward some good ideas/thoughts? The type approval route is the only way I can think it will be possible, but there are many far cleverer and knowledgeable people on here who might have some useful input. :)

Boardman Team Hybrid custom fitted with a Bafang BBS01b by Brighton eBikes

Cheers Rob, KentGuy really wanted to retain the bottle cage and the frame allowed for it well, which was nice. I guess that's the beauty of bespoke builds :) The gear hanger alignment was the first thing I checked and definitely not that. I tried many little adjustments and tricks in an effort...

Thank you. I'll have to check them out. I'll look into a build this summer :) Still slight reservations about ease of removing the wheel when out and about should I catch a flat tyre, plus tools required and the drop out suitability/ strength on certain bikes. Not so important with disc brakes...

I found front hubs struggle on not so steep hills too, particularly if road surface is loose or wet. Double trouble when the bike is fitted with a rear carrier rack and loaded with fair to moderate weight and/or child . I dislike the way it makes the bike handle, with vague steering and drifty...

Not aaarf. Do they pull as well as a Burt Reynolds style moustache on a Welshman? If so, it sounds good to me! Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

lol! Cheers. Questionable sense of humor!?! From the needs you describe, it sounds like a half decent hub might just whizz you along nicely. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

Keep the bike as it is and buy a rowing boat that it'll fit in? ;) Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

Second hand perhaps? That's all I can think.. The main reason I suggested mid drive option was because of the sea level up to fairly steep hills part of the op. I've never found front hubs particularly great for that. Depending on rider weight a rear hub might cut it? I'd worry a cheap front hub...

Fair dos. Defo try some test rides before you buy to avoid disappointment and ensure what you want is what you get. From what you do, I'd say the conversion is well within your abilities, work with measure twice cut once principle :) Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

Think mid drive. Think Bafang BBSxx. Think no more! ;) (The only looking back you'll do is to see the folk you pass on the hills struggling to keep up!) Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

    BBSxx clutch thingy?

Same Mobile28. A good clean up first is strongly recommended. See also: https://electricbike-blog.com/2015/12/23/mobilgrease-28-bbshdbbs02-because-a-good-mid-drive-is-better-seen-and-not-heard/ Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk
