Moving on to 650B with a new toy...

I have always ridden 26" bikes off-road, and greeted the whole 29er movement with a lukewarm reception. For my personal taste, 29ers are a step too far for the kind of riding I mainly do; singletrack, not overly knarly DH, places like Swinley, Peaslake, and generally ragging around in the local...

    Bike lock

Unavoidable is the fact that with strength comes weight. Personally I have always had good experience with Abus D locks. I use a granit-x, but most Abus upwards of £40 are pretty good. To a degree, where it's locked and what to has a bearing. Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.

Haibike ties, lol. Is that what they are known as now? :) ...very drole. Not good to read that :( pleased your okay, just cuts and bruises and nothing broken. (Except an easily replaced brake lever). Sounds like a fast one that caught you by surprise, they are the hardest and scariest, as you...

BBS02 where to grease for service

That'll do nicely :) Well worth checking and refreshing the grease in there every couple to few thousands miles or so. I blow the old stuff out with an air line whilst holding a rag in front to collect the old gug, the rag really helps to stop it from covering the whole workshop and myself in...

BBS02 where to grease for service

I quite agree. I can't fathom out why the guys at Bafang are so tight with the grease, it's not like it's expensive really? Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.

Great photo. Love the perspective thing. Be careful you don't lose your bike in the woods this time of year, that paint job 'n' all! ;) Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.

    The good lady's birthday pressie

It was my lovely wife's birthday recently, and to my delight she agreed that an 'around town bike' for taking the little one to school, running errands, popping to the shops and so on, might be a nice idea. Her current bike is a gents style frame MTB with 250 watt mid-drive fitted, but to be...

Bafang BBS01 mechanical error (creaking when pedalling)

I would be inclined to check the crank arms are secured correctly on the square taper axle. Get an Allen key and check the crank bolts are tight. Sometimes, if there is grease or suchlike on the axle ends or inside the cranks' square before they're fitted it could cause this noise. If simply...

Not far from Brighton either. Interesting project :) Made me wonder what it would be like with some electric motors fitted? 4 X hubs or 4 X BBSHD? Or both? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/182329095718?_mwBanner=1 Sent from here to there with computer wizardry.
