    It seems pretty irrelevant if the lights were red or green if he was riding an illegal bike it is his fault due to the fact he should not be on the road.

    Just tell Halfrauds that you are rejecting the bike as it is not fit for purpose and refuse to leave the store until they refund you, It is well documented on various threads about the problems with this bike. I had the same problems and demanded a refund and subsequently bought the Crossfuse.
