Sorry to nit pick but Sheldon is right - they are cantilever brakes. There are two types of cantilever brakes - top pull and direct pull. Shimano trade marked the word "v-brake" for their version of the direct pull cantilever brake.

It's not the discharge rate that's an issue with lipos (even a 15c 5ah lipo can do 75amps!) it's the state of charge - you don't want to take them down by more that 80% (i.e 4ah our of a 5ah) as that's what drastically shortens their life.

I wouldn't be worried about the delay if they would reply to my emails stating what they are doing/waiting on. It's the lack of communication that concerns me. I'm hoping the PayPal dispute will get them to "pull their finger out".

Just escalated my paypal dispute to ask for a refund -still no response from them and order status still shows "testing" on the website. Looks like I'll be heading down the 4x5000mah 6s Lipo route for my build :-)

Ordered my 36v 15ah shrink wrap battery from BMS battery on 1st September - still waiting for it. Order status just says "testing". I've raised a PayPal dispute.

For the money they are ok - cheap and cheerful. It's worth cheking the connectors have the right wires going to the right pins as they have been known to be "swapped" over on occasion. Also worth going over the wheel to check spoke tension as well as with most machine built wheel...

If it's lithium (not lifepo) then charge it to 40-60% - roughly 3.7v then pop it in someones fridge, wrapped up in cling film. At 5c lithium batteries only loose approx 4% to 5% of capacity per year. Fully charged at room temp they lose 20% per year.

Don't look at the Cytronex kit if you want to venture off smooth tarmac.
