Getting fitter and buying the right bike

I'm still on a fast bike - I've just found as I'm getting fitter I'm just going quicker but using less battery :-) Like a previous poster, my brain always goes into "bat out of hell" mode when getting on the bike - all my good intentions of cycling to work in my work gear and sitting...

Bosch Tuning dongles arrived today - 50kph cut off..

I'd only be inclined to use it on a bike that was out of warranty. I certainly wouldn't post on a public forum about using a dongle on a bike that was still warrantied, esp if purchased from one of the traders on said forum!

Bosch Tuning dongles arrived today - 50kph cut off..

It just frigs the input into the controller so it thinks the bike is going slower than it actually is, so the controller just keeps adding power above the normal cut off limit. You can do the same with the Mecury Speedict. Battery should be fine, 50km/h isn't that fast and it doesn't up the...

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

Wow - not meaning to be funny or anything but what a way to make a drama of a simple connector fit and bleed! For reference, there is no need to remove the caliper from the bike or make it the highest point - you can just bleed the system with everything in situ. Oh, and with Shimano brakes...

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

If you're anything like me Alex you'll find the orginal exactly 5 mins after the replacement pops through the letterbox! Oh and re dopping stuff in the workshop - the strongest known force in the universe (stronger than the suns gravity, stronger than a black hole) is that 1cm gap under your...

    Magura hydraulic brake cut-off switch

Magura fluid is just 10wt mineral oil with a bit of blue dye added. You can use an similar weight non corrosive fluid (i.e. not brake fluid) but bear in mind your warranty would be void. Something like this would be fine. People have even had success with vegetable oil when nothing else...

Weather in Oz at the moment slightly variable

12c outside in Blackpool atm - it's a beautiful day - looks good all week too, geting a touch cooler later in the week. That's the ebike every day then! Although I'll be taking it easy as I seperated my right knee whilst getting on my bike this am :-( After hitting the deck I did the...

Another throttle question to ask ????????

If you're getting fed up holding open thumb throttles, just take the return spring out - works a charm on my bike :-) I did that instead of fitting cruise control. Ofc, you should have at least one brake cut out if you do this!

Admitting the truth-nothing to be ashamed of.

About cooling the motors? On ES, folks have heaters for the batteries, oil cooling for the motors and water cooling for the controllers. Serious stuff.

Admitting the truth-nothing to be ashamed of.

Depending on the state of charge, storing at 25c means you could permanently lose 20% of the capacity of the battery in one year versus 2% stored @ 0c. How to Store Batteries – Battery University However, if you use batteries whilst they are @ 0c, then they have a reduced capacity and...

20mph speed limit -applies to bikes ?

My response was kind of toungue in cheek ;-) Oh, and re: throttles - if the pedals need to be turning then they aren't really throttles at all are they? What has been described is really an infinitiely variable assist mechanism - which is already allowed. It make no difference whether...
