    Throttles and more power....

If you want total control over power, speed and throttle usage build your own - choose a controller that can be programmed and can also use high voltage batteries.

Is it time to empty Euro bank accounts?

That's why I've been buying gold rather than saving cash.

    Where is Eddie?

I miss eddie as well. He has thoroughly insulted me a few times (I've no time debates that turn into ad hominem fallacies to be honest) but most of the time his posts were worthwhile reads.

    Lidl gadgets next Thursday .

They do - downwards. I had one with a light mtb on and found the bike on the floor in the morning - one of the pulleys had sheared in half! Fortunately it didn't hit the Westfield on the way down or there would have been hell to pay at the local lidl store.

    Pertaining to ebikes

Have you ridden a 4kw ebike - even one limited to 17mph? I have and they should not be available as a retail item!

The dutch get "motorways" to ride on!

That because most car drivers over there are also cyclists. Over here it's the other way round - most cyclists are also car drivers.

    Pertaining to ebikes

Because they don't really care about cycling, certainly not ebikes, and the government thinks all it's citizens have to be baby sat and molly coddled lest they hurt themselves, so they picked a low arbitrary limit happ that ebike and normal cycles would be so close together in use and function...

More government support for 4-wheelers, nothing for 2-wheelers....

I'm not sure how you can say they are not setting aside funding for us:- Boris Announces £913m Vision For London Cycling - BikeRadar £913m for London alone.

    Torque settings BB

Martin has already answered your question but FYI using a Torque wrench to remove something to record the torque then using that same measurement to refit doesn't work - items loosen over time so the releasing torque would be less that the tightening torque (same if using stretch bolts) and...

    Charity Ride, electric bikes invited?

So don't do the ride on:- A: A heavy ebike that you can't peddle or B: or an ebike with not enough range. Charging during an event isn't an option - especially as most ebikes take 6-8hrs to charge ;-) Even my high amp charger takes 90 mins to fully charge my bike.

    Charity Ride, electric bikes invited?

I wouldn't worry about charging stations - most ebikers know how to manage assist vs range - and you can still peddle an ebike after the battery dies.

    Speed or S Pedelec insurance

Yes, but you'll be on the road with all those nasty cars whilst we'll be on all those lovely traffic free cycle lanes ;-) EDIT:- I see flecc has just made that same point. If I want to ride fast, on the road and cheaply - I'll do it on a motorbike. There is no "cheap" legal high speed...

    Speed or S Pedelec insurance

As long as you don't falsely advertise or misinform prospective buyers then there is absolutely nothing preventing you selling these bikes. Just don't offer any test rides :-)

Police Officers, The Law & eBikes, funny video attached.

Doesn't matter if he broke the law or not - no excuse for being a ****! I freely admit to showing a blatant disregard for a fair few of the stupid laws we have in this country (ebike laws being one of them) but that does not mean I do not have regard for the Police - and if ever I was...

    Speed or S Pedelec insurance

They are uncovered and in UK law it's not the sellers responsibility* to ensure the bike is used in a manner according to the law - that's entirely the users responsibility. As long as it's not mis-advertised as road legal then sellers haven't got anything to worry about. *However it is an...

Police Officers, The Law & eBikes, funny video attached.

I don't find the video funny, I find it disrespectful and rude towards the Police officer.
