    Not Strictly Legal Bikes

No one seems to care. Had a police car drive behind me for two miles, passed police on foot on the prom, overtaken police on bikes on the prom, even had a chat with one whilst I was taking photos of the sunset etc. Not a **** was given. But then again my bike looks like a bike and I'm always...

    New Bike or Conversion?

Biggest battery? 60V 30AH V2.5 LiFePO4 Battery Pack 1.8kw/h of power! That'd get my bike 75 miles @ 25mph. It all depends on how much you're willing to spend and how heavy you're willing to go.

Best £1000 cycle to work scheme

I'd get a normal good bike then spend some of your own money converting it with a kit tbh. People argue whether the c2w scheme saves you any money but I've just finished year and my £700 Trek FX 7.5 has cost me £505 in total. Although it's now on an extended "hire" for the next three years...

    Brake Levers

Haha - I do have previous :-) http://web.bethere.co.uk/amigafan2003/index.html I love my projects - as long as it involves a motor or computer (both preferably) and it's not household DIY!

    Brake Levers

You can do it but it's never a bad idea to have the cut outs connected. Are the brakes hydraulic or cable? Many of us have adapted existing brake levers (see my build thread for example) that I'm sure we can find a solution between us.

    Order from GreenBikeKit

I concur with your good experience of Greenbikekit. I sent a question asking about a cute 100 motor (GBK-100f on thier website) on a sat, answered same day, order placed Sunday, motor was delivered thursday - well packaged and good price and reasonable postage costs. I'll certainly use...

    Catseye Velo Wireless not working

Also - I find my motor phase wires interfere with my Cateye wireless computer. My phase wires are on the left hand side and I had to move the computer as far over to the right as possible on the bars in order for it to pick up a signal - worth checking.

What is the best legal crank drive bike available?

Backhander to the EN certification dept and it's really pulling 1kw?

    New build.

I've asked Lyen for a quote for one of his sensored capable controllers. I'll keep the current mini monster for another project :-)

    New build.

I did get a sensored motor, but I have a sensorless only controller :-)

    New build.

All done :-) Controller set to peak @ 750watts. Not as nice as the Tongxin or Goldant in sensorless mode though :-( Bit of a stutter between 5mph and 12mph but it clears once through that barrier - just have to be gentle on the throttle. Flies along at peak rpm though and as I only stop...

    Brightest possible front light

I have a MJ-872 for the front and a MJ-818 for the rear. The batteries that they normally come with are junk (no name 18650's with no cell balancing) so I've built an 8.4v 8ah pack consisting of 4 Turnigy 2s 2000mah nannotechs. Lighter and cheaper than a Magicshine pack and I have some...

    My ebay Electric folder

You could always go for the 5s 8ah packs for 37v. Controller 'might' be able to take that. Or if you don't like the idea of lipo you could get two ZIPPY Flightmax 8400mAh 4S2P 30C LiFePo4 Pack that should fit ok and will put you back near 24v (26.4v nominal).

    Bafang SWXK5 24V

Cellman doesn't sell the MXUS anymore - just the MAC's now.

    Bafang SWXK5 24V

Just make sure you pay via credit card then it if all goes wrong just initiate a charge back.

    Bafang SWXK5 24V

The difference in the motors is that the SWXK5 has more clearance for disc calipers - it's just a casing change, internally they are the same. I have no comments on the company though, sorry. I have used electric motor, hub motor, bldc motor for electric vehicle, electric bike convevsion...

Using the motor as an anti theft device.

Only direct drive motors. Ones with a freewheel, for obvious reasons, can't do it (or regen). @jerry - you're Lyen controller has the option - check in the xpd software. You won't be using it with a Tongxin though :-)
