    Bosch power

Definitely 500wh battery if doing touring or long day rides, not so important for average commute. The 7spd is lower maintenance than derailleurs, and you can change gears when stopped.

    Bosch Engine Repairs After Warranty??

Given that high mileage a IGH and belt drive would be ideal, next best thing is IGH and singlespeed chain. There are quite few bikes around 2k with IGH and chain.

    Roof Carrier for 29er

Be aware that wind might force rain water into your electric s and motor. There are aftermarket velcro engine protectors you can buy, but they won't help when you drive into that covered carpark and ignore the max height warning sign.

    Chain stretch?

Just replaced 11spd KMC E chain at 1300kms on CX drive. Discovered one big flaw with cube engine cover, with chain suck (forgot to turn XT derailleur clutch on), chain jam between chain guide block and chain wheel. Luckily it happened at home and I had tools to remove pedal and chainring...

We are yet to see that in ebike market but it will come eventually. Likely to be same companies that do this normal bikes.

    Looking for a new e-bike

Have STEP and Bosch CX so not direct comparison, Active is Step equivalent. STEP is smooth in eco and normal where I spend most my time. High is slightly lumpy compared to Bosch, hardly noticeable and over shadowed by pleasure of climbing sweat free. STEP assist button and larger display leave...

    Looking for a new e-bike

If commuting and touring is your thing then go for trekking or hybrid with factory fitted mudgaurds, integrated lights (run of main battery) and rack. After riding a FS eMTB and my wife city ebike, realised these extras make huge difference for daily commuting. A suntour NCX or thudbuster seat...

Scott Brose MTB at Ilkley Cycles

Best thing you can do is take one for test ride. Do try it off road in technical sections eg climbing rock garden, low speed sharp corners. Power delivery in these situation is not meant to be as good as Bosch.

About time Dual 1000 watt bosch batteries to be retro fit

Reviews I've read says it switches every 5%. Not sure what happens if one battery is 50% and other 100%. Does alternate or wait till 100% is down to 50%. NB you can't parallel batteries up, not without balancing and control circuits. Hence switching, which is very easy to do.

    London to Brighton

Those luddites a typically seen with bikes on their cars driving somewhere for ride. Can understand with MTBing, but when road cyclists drive 10km to local meeting point for 100km Sunday ride then drive home. These are same people that spend 10minutes trying to park as close as possible to gym.

    Ridgeback Electron

The Shimano STEPS drive is excellent, we have one. Can't speak from personal experience about (our bike has derailleur gears) DI2 internal hub but reviews are good. Haven't heard of any reliability issues. The big plus of hub gears is being able to changed down when stopped. In case of Di2...

    eZee Forza review

You comment about speed steps with PAS was be one things that put me of cadence sensing hub drive. Not issue for commuting but pain when trying to ride with someone on unassisted bike. Choose factory mid drive because of this, excellent speed control. Our bike didn't come with integrated...
