    Helmet camera recommendations please

How did teh SJCAM SJ4000 work out? i am very tempted by it for around£60 on banggood, but am absoutterlylootely flat broke. Does anyone know of an even cheaper wifi equiped gopro clone that would be just about good enough?

Maybe a thread for 5kw+ conversions?

what makes up the bulk of the £4K in a 10KW build? Ive been given an engineless Berkeley microcar and had teh insane idea of electrifying it (but it weighs somewhere aroudn 150kg)

Maybe a thread for 5kw+ conversions?

also here's to hoping this thread becomes a useful open minded sharing of experience and not another journey into the netherworld of EU/UK pedelec legislation and legality..

Maybe a thread for 5kw+ conversions?

a complete noob question, but what controller do you use? and how much Ah is teh battery? great looking bike, somehow teh white gives it a stealth look that might go less noticed

Bosch Nyon Issues?. New substantial update: Jan 2015

second that, imagine for a moment a nightmare connected world ten years from now when all ones smart appliances, AND ones bicycle AND laptop is subject to software upgrades and typical windows crashes..

Best under £1000 bikes for 14 mile roundtrip hilly mon-fri commute

if youre hybird is good quality and youre happy with it i would say - as a very recent convert - get an oxydrive kit and convert it - specially since you weigh 75kg - you'll end up with sufficient torque and speed in a quality package instead of a, well, less high quality package that isnt...

    Oxydrive kits

many thanks, speed is a funny thing, i got a pinch puncture last night because of a much higher constant speed than on an unpowered bike and finally not dodginig pot holes enough, the drop bars mean 26 plus mph constant feels curiously entirely safe and manageable (its what one would do anyway...

    Oxydrive kits

ive tested it, it's great, 26mph on the level is easy, it climbs the steepest hill on the commute at 6 or 7mph with minimal effort, I attach some pics, so far it's great (had minor snag with break lever cutting motor out intermittently but it was because it was mounted too horizontally)

    Motor Torque and Power.

Many thanks,it explains much, weird to think motor works against itself beyond certain speed

2nd Hand Electric bike under £400?

apologies if this is a serious derailing (a break in work caused it) - but that got me thinking about efficiency - what is teh most efficient speed ot run an electric motor in a pedelec at? i came accross this: This is actually not really true. A very basic electric motor has 100% torque...

    Schwalbe Energizer Tyres

i wiped out totally a few weeks ago on icy gravel on a bike with "schwalbe marathon plus touring" - see here http://www.schwalbe.com/gb/tour-reader/marathon-plus-tour.html it was very surprising the lack of grip - it has deeper thread than standard marathon plus, i think fatter is better - i...

    Basic bike work stand suitability?

IMHO, dont buy the minoura bike stand - as shown down teh page here http://www.londoncyclist.co.uk/portable-bike-stand/ if you have a 28 or 29 wheel bike - it doesnt lifet teh rear of teh ground sufficiently for spinning/truing etc.

    Oxydrive kits

I've finally done it - finished installing everything, and it works (electrically that is)! there was one major hiccup - the small PAS on the non drive side even with the new BB didn't work - its too fat - I was stumped, feeling defeated when a nagging little voice reminded me that as I was...

I'm beginning to hate (some) cyclists

at risk of saying the obvious, I think they were taking their bad day out on you, I see a lot of that somehow in dear old blightey - sad middleclass, often middle-aged souls, seethingly frustrated by the way nothing seems to be going the way it goes in American sitcoms, blearily eyeing everyone...

    It could be a record

I would sacrifice a recording contract if I could do the exact same I'm doing somewhere warm (Martinique would do just fine)

    It could be a record

congrats, I run and find the same - exertion, being active, getting fit changes everything and fundamentally how one feel, experience

    It could be a record

can't be the first day of the Gregorian calendar? couldn't be guy fawkes either(you're not faffing around under parliament)? I have it! see second entry here http://www.on-this-day.com/onthisday/thedays/alldays/jan31.htm

    Never give up.

another vote for a brooks - but one has to stick to it a few months and break it in. the thing about leather is that it remains a neutral temperature (unlike plastic which doesnt breath and gets hot), and leather is low friction (apparently its on reason bikers wear leather, for skidding)...

    Fast Legal Bike

that triggered a slightly polyana train of thought (apologies if this is a complete tangent) - g-wiz's (going-green) are very very cheap at the moment (around £1000), moreso when running on defunct lead batteries, the spec of which is 48V 200 Ah http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/REVAi how difficult...

    Small batteries for Brompton

ive got a similar one, it charges at max 8 A, but that's fien for preserving your lipos, and to be entirely anal, when balance charging leaves cells at say 4.09; 4.11 etc when you set it for 4.1, otherwise its just fine
