i use these https://www.biketiresdirect.com/product/schwalbe-durano-s-road-tire 145 PSI - it's absolutely great if one can dodge potholes

    donor bike

strictly for what it's worth, i just completed building an oxydrive kit (supposedly 350w but really 36V 18A max by controller) into a b'twin triban (all up weight in teh end is around 20kg) - i did a circuit including a very steep short hill and much longer relatively steep hill 9i'd groan in...

    Oxydrive kits

dear all, a quick follow up, wiggle sells velox tape (very good IMHO) on sale at the moment http://www.wiggle.co.uk/velox-rim-tape/ it cured the problem of 10 bar inner tubes and large internal spoke holes, and as any fellow virgo will know, it's deeply satisfying to fix stuff properly

Flebi SL 9kg leccy folder, new?

i'm afraid im having a very, very squeezed month, so it's a no go for me, but it seems a very attractive offer and imi sure someone else here might jump at it. but it is intriguing - if you dont mind me asking - what is the cruising speed what teh gearing it has?

Cyclamatic Power Plus with 36v battery and controller

don't mean to complicate things - but i suspect a 24v cyclamatic wont have much of a second hand value - what would be teh downside of buying this stonkingly big 24V with its carrier rack...

    Tyre sizes

I'd be inclined to get the fatter ones, I put 1.75 marathon p!us' by accident on a city bike (bought cheap online without double checking width), potholes and vibration SO much worse than on fat marathon p!us'

Hill climbing - 20 inch wheels better?

perhaps there's another reason why a smaller (lighter) bike might suit you - I have a fiat panda and a thule easybase - the towbar can take 60kg max, the easybase weighs 15kg, theres just enough capacity lefgt for a few heavy bikes and a heavy lock without risking insurance issues

    Dahon Jetstream conversion

the aliexpress one is certainly highly original, but do you trust that hinge to take all the torsion of throwing ones weight forward against it while braking on a steep descent? I have a friend who has a kalkhoff tasman with what seems to me the perfect low key folding handlebar, will check name...

    Helmet camera recommendations please

thanks for that, somehow it doesn't look as waterproof as a gopro/sj4000, but certainly cheap and cheerful, I found this clone which gets very good reviews http://www.amazon.co.uk/eSynic%C2%AE-Camera-Waterproof-Camcorder-Climbing/dp/B00GLPW3U8/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top and I'm on the verge of...

    Oxydrive kits

it may well be crappy tubes (i did the usual thing of buying the cheapest tubes i could find on ebay), but to be fair, they work on the front wheel and before it was electrified on both - i think others may not have problems because they run at lower pressure - I'm not complaining about the rim...

    Oxydrive kits

Dear all, I have a curious nonelectric problem - the rim tape/rubber on the oxydrive rim is not designed for the 10 atmospheres pressure of the 700c 23 tyres - it causes punctures around the inner spoke holes - I replaced it with another rubber rim tape with more punctures. Does anyone know what...

    Bike foldable and portable workstand

i bought the same from ebay and had a few significant snags - it didn't lift a 29ers rear of the ground enough to true a wheel, later it felt that it would bend the cable on an oxydrive hub motor in worrying ways, but on a non hub drive smaller bike i can see it might be good
