Swytch Pro/Max yellow battery connector secrets revealed?

The O-side is positive, and the D-side is neg. You can confirm this by putting a meter onto the output plug of your Swytch charger, so just wondering why you needed to ask? Don’t try taking power from the O & D connector - it’s power INPUT to the battery pack only,

Swytch Max kit change display for SW102

I’m kind of in the same situation. The Swytch Max uses a Lishui controller (as do their other kits). I bought a C500 display off of ebay for £20 that has a Lishui-compatable version. like you, I fell foul of it having the wrong plug. I will change the connector but I want to do some tests first...

Settings for KT Controller and Swytch Hub

… in the hope of clarifying, all Swytch hubs (both gen 2 and 3) have the commonly-used nine-pin connector, and that would make the hubs sensored I believe.

Swytch Pro/Max yellow battery connector secrets revealed?

Opening the controller up is the best way. Some screws are torx and some philips - watch out for the little rubber gromits on the yellow connector screws. There’s just about enough room to join your red and black extension wires to the existing red and black wires that run between the yellow...

Curious about the difference between allowed wattage for 250W LPM ebikes and normal EU ebike legislation

Simple question - I’ve seen the word “etched” on this form somewhere when describing the markings on the hub. Can it ever be a stick on label, or does the rating need to be etched into the hub itself?

Advice on Swytch kit bike additional battery

… but I still fully support Saneagle’s suggestion of using a simple connector as being the easiest way for most.

Advice on Swytch kit bike additional battery

IF (and only if) you are electrical-savvy and don’t mind a bit of fettling, then adding a blocking diode to the mix would be a thought. That way, if you connect more than one battery at a time, then the diodes will prevent large (potentially damaging) current flows if the batteries have...

Advice on Swytch kit bike additional battery

When you open up your handlebar battery holder, beware of the two very small rubber gromits that live on the two screws that hold the yellow plug to the case. You can see them in the attached photo. You might not need to remove the plug if you’re just tapping into it. Search for “swytch” and you...

    No 3D printer…

Thanks. I had a can of Isopon Fastglas resin in the garage so I used that.

    No 3D printer…

Hi. Quite chuffed with the result. I can’t justify a 3d printer so I used silicon mould compound, and resin for the actual item. The each of the four spades are two 4.8 spades back-to-back (to give the thickness). I wanted some of the special plugs that swytch use to connect to their gen 3...

Converting from Swytch to standard equipment

Fully support what Whoosh is saying. I had mentally made note that you announced yourself in your first post as a techy. There is no easy path here - every step will need testing and some fettling e.g. this KT controller isn’t going to fit in your existing swytch holder.

Converting from Swytch to standard equipment

Hi Rig the Jig. I’m pretty sure this is a winning set of parts, but I’ve just pulled them off the web quickly this afternoon. i normally would spend an hour or two checking the detail to be sure. For instance, KT do various displays - I think I’ve read that the LCD5 is the best choice, but I’d...

I think I’m there! So a good choice for swytch people moving onto a KT controller, would be these controllers plus a display (attached) - both readily available on eBay.

Converting from Swytch to standard equipment

“You thought the connectors for your previous controller were the same as KT ones because they fit” was tooo subtle. Now I know it translates to “Don’t buy a controller with moulded connectors”, I have learnt and absorbed!
