C500 display - Speed Sensor Selection (SPs) setting

Hi all. I think I’ve figured out all of the settings available in the C500 display - except one. In Advanced settings, what is the setting for that is called Speed Sensor Setting (SPs) in the manual? I’ve got two available possibilities - either 1 or 6. Neither setting seems to have any...

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

Nope, not the hub. I’ve just swapped to front wheel for another swytch one, and still no speed reading, and still got error 9.

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

Yes, I shall just ignore the errors and no speed display I think, although the bike keeps wanting to go faster and faster which I’ll have to deal with in a different way than setting top speed in the controller. it’s not a big enough problem to warrant splicing into the cable. The Swytch hub...

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

I’m closer to understanding this Error 9 I’m getting on my C500 display with a Yose (Lishui) controller and a Swytch front wheel. I’d previously believed this was due to a 250W controller compatibility issue with a 350w display - WRONG! I thought I couldn’t get into the advanced settings, but I...

    fuses!!!

Agreed, for internal circuit fuses. If you buy any device that’s got a 13A plug on it nowadays though you’ll likely find a 13A fuse in the plug, even when the device itself draws small amps. I’ve never been happy with that and I like to pop a 3A fuse in if I remember.

    fuses!!!

I always felt that a fuse was primarily there to protect the power supply and supply infrastructure, not necessarily the device you were attaching!

    Swytch bike problems

What exact Swytch variant do you have? When you turn the pedals does the red light on the PAS flash? Some of the Swytch displays have a walk-test function to see if the hub is connected ok.

They have to be like that in order to maintain the geometry, as the suspension design throws everything more forward. Google throws up some interesting info about the Noleen forks. The bike is a K2 Proflex. Outdated now, but great at the time, and we’ve been through a lot of miles and adventures...

They were the dog’s danglies in the ‘90s!

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

Just to (hopefully) wrap up this “Error 9” thing, I’ve had a little play this morning. What Larkbox says is most likely the cause - that I’ve got a basic (restricted) 250w integrated controller, but an unrestricted (350w?) C500 display. Semi-proof of this is that I’ve got all the basic...

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

Nothing’s quite so simple with me. The pedelec thing started with me because I couldn’t bear to be parted from my trusty trailblazer of nearly thirty years, so as it’s a soft-tail the swytch kit seemed a good idea to begin with. It now has turned into a bit of a “back to the future” bike as you...

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

KT here I come! I'm not being flippant. I was heading for KT anyway - it’s just that I had these bits handing around. I shall pause slightly to see what comes of these potential government changes though.

What you say makes a lot of sense as it all is all fundamentally working ok. I can live with it saying error 9 either way.

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

It’s a full-on issue as it’s there all the time as soon as I turn it on, and stays there - but it isn’t affecting anything that I can see. i’ve stripped it back firstly to just the wheel, controller, PAS and display, and now taken the PAS and wheel away and still get the error 9. This just...

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

Thanks Saneagle. I did splice a new plug onto the C500 display - I cut off the original plug to marry the C500 to a Swytch controller. Maybe I didn’t do a good job, but the display does fully function as I can change parameters and settings just fine. If I can’t find the fault I’ll stick a bit...

Chances of marrying a Swytch front wheel with a Yose (Lishui) controller.

I’ve added the swytch front wheel to a Yose powerpack that has an integeral Lishui controller (photo previously added). I checked out the wiring on the swytch PAS and can confirm that the wiring is the same as Yose (picture attached of the male julet that plugs into the controller socket)...

    Swytch Go

Swytch is an ok option - I’ve got three swytch-moded bikes in my family of various types. Best suited to my wife, who just wants to sling on a battery and pootle around a bit. Downsides are, you pay at least twice as much as you need to, you can’t get spares easily, the quoted range is only if...

    Swytch Go

Are you sure about that? Swytch claim that in the UK/EU it’s coded at 15.2mph max.

Help! Building up from Swytch kit

The display is what Swytch call the Base Display. It has a M6 5-pin Julet plug that won’t directly fit any other situation (other than Swytch) - as everyone else uses M8 5-pin Julets, if Julets are used. It might work with another Lishui controller but there’s no way of easily telling. They sell...

Swytch Max kit change display for SW102

First step would be to identify the make of the controller. The controller and display are matched - the vendors use different communication protocols.
