    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

Saneagle has lot more experience than I do. Take his advice in preference to mine!

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

The method I suggest is based on only doing one job at a time, and fully testing before moving on. First job would be to work out how long a cable you need for the display to reach from the new controller location to the handlebars and doing extending the display first (watch the youtube for...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

Marvelous! First thing - get the battery into a safe situation - unplugged and out of the way. Get some masking tape and add an ID flag to each cable coming out of the controller. It’s obvious which one is the display. Add flags to all the connector/cables coming into the big connector housing...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

Not fully convinced of that - although I’ve not got my hands on a gen 2 controller yet. My reasoning is that for each cable connection to the controller (PAS, display, and motor) there will surely be a mating connector that cables up to the big connector. By cutting as close to the big connector...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

Great info - thanks. He has the connectors needed already - as long as there is a few inches of cable attached to them!

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

… he has the connectors - as long as he has a few inches The post I think you refer to is the one I did for the Gen 3 Swytch kit, where the battery clips off and the controller stays on the bike. This thread is for the Gen 2, where the controller, display, and battery are all in a bag that...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

This is where Rig the Gig’s technical guy will be needed - to basically engineer the removal of the gen 2 pack-to-handlebar connector. Should be fully achievable with additional wire, soldering and shrinksleeve.

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

The picture is of what I believe a Gen 2 controller looks like, but I’ve not had my hands on one personally!

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

The battery pack will be self-contained with charger and bms integral to the pack. You only need to take the two wire output and join them to the controller (red and black). The battery pack’s only function is to provide your power. The pedal assist sensor is a three pin plug into the...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

I can only say what I would personally do in your position if the battery pack is failing. There are a number of pannier mounted battery packs on the market that provide 36v at really useful capacities. The controller from the swytch battery pack is useable, but will need mounting in the pannier...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

Hi. Search on ebay for”swytch battery upgrade” and he’ll be shown in the result. Don’t know who he is, but he will probably be the way to go if you need to keep your existing setup. As you can tell from the posts, the Swytch gen 2 setup is not easy to update - especially now that it’s obsolete...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

Not sure yet, I’m looking at alternatives at the moment. It’s a Lishui controller so I’m expecting to find one that’ll do the job. Looking on youtube a few people have mounted their gen 2 packs on the back of the bike, brought the leads forwards, and glued the existing display onto a rear light...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

A sensible approach. Without generalising too much though, I guess the average Swytch user has gone that way because they don’t want to get into the technical side. They want a quick half hour session in the garage, and away they go. To convert a fsiling Swytch gen 2 setup to something viable is...

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

That’s the sad truth. There’s a guy on ebay at the moment advertising gen 2 battery refurbs and upgrades - but the price is wow! You can completely redo the whole bike for the same price.

    Swytch mark 2 battery rebuild

I’ve been pondering this for a while as by brother has a gen 2 Swytch setup and both his battery packs are slowly failing. There’s major sense ditching the gen 2 battery for a more generic one, but it potentially leaves you with an almost empty bag hanging on the handlebars that still houses...

Where are the controller settings stored?

Agreed. I’ve checked the plug is the same, and I can see no reason why they would run a different comms protocol - which I believe they call KM5S. I don’t think I shall blow anything. There might even be absolutely no advantage in the C500, but I’m hoping I’ll get something out of it.

Where are the controller settings stored?

So my expectation is, that when I plug a virgin C500 display into my Lishui (Swytch) controller, that current settings won’t be altered by the C500. I shall give it a go…

Where are the controller settings stored?

Thank you Saneagle. I shall read and absorb!

Where are the controller settings stored?

Hi. I’m wondering where the settings are typically held when you set them on the display. I would expect them to be stored in the actual controller, but it’s possible to have them stored in the display unit I guess. Can someone tell me - thanks!

Swytch Pro/Max yellow battery connector secrets revealed?

For those who have Swytch Air or Max battery packs. The charge connections - which are the centre two (O and D) on the yellow plug - are EC2 connectors, but with the O and D positions reversed. You can make up a charger adapter by cutting the EC2 in half and hot gluing it together in the Swytch...
