Can it be done? a hill-climbing & range calculator...

Hi Flecc, thanks for the additional information and all the hard work you've put into it. I think what is clear from all this is that we've arrived at "a fair presentation of electric bike performance" and that is, there is no simple answer! While it's now unlikely we can build an accurate...

Can it be done? a hill-climbing & range calculator...

As you both point out, it's important that this information is presented fairly i.e. showing a bike's strengths AND weaknesses. Using these statistics it would be possible for a newcomer to draw a conclusion that the Torq is not a good hill climber, but that is not the end of the story. On...

BMX Kids – a new Target Group for Pedelecs?

Interesting news article on the ExtraEnergy site via here. A while back there was a discussion on the suitability and safety of electric bikes for the youngsters.

Can it be done? a hill-climbing & range calculator...

Excellent post Stuart. I'm still very keen on a range/climbing ability guide for the site/forum! Maybe if we start with the bikes we all have along with some common gradients people understand from road signs they see out on the roads we can start to build a list on this thread. I can them...

    you may have seen this

Nigel, that's terrible news. I won't say on here what I think should be done to people like that. Did you leave the key with the bike?

    help ime under attack

Hi mike, can I presume you are running Windows XP ? If so, when you ctrl-alt-delete, if you sort the running processes by the CPU column header you can see what tasks are taking up the time. I suspect it will be your antivirus software that is doing it though as it will be scanning the emails...

    Ezee Liv

To give a better indication of hill-climbing ability, all the commercial bikes should be in standard trim, fully charged and the same rider rides each in turn without pedalling. Using various gradients we can then get an idea of how well each bike performs. Otherwise there are too many variables...

May be that Bionx doesn't want to sell its products?

Hi Alberto, have you tried contacting BionX directly ?? Nick on the forum has dealt with a couple of distributors in the U.S. that were helpful. I'm sure he can provide their contact details ? cheers Russ. Edit: I've also emailed them direct with a link to the appropriate threads to see if...

Which make of electric bike do you own?

Hi Fordnutz and welcome to the forum! You will hopefully find your Torq is more than capable in this changeable weather. With the newer Torq's you also have the benefit of full mudguards too. Some decent waterproofs and you can easily commute a fair distance and get there dry :) cheers Rus.

Got a eZee Sprint 7 - it is fantastic

Hi Jason, I feel confident that you would be very happy purchasing a Torq. I've had mine for 7 months or so now and have covered more than two thousand miles on it without a single problem. The battery has been fine and has never let me down or cut out on me. I'm sure you would quickly...

Which make of electric bike do you own?

Welcome to the club, i'm amazed at the restraint you've shown in posting details here of your new purchase before unpacking it first :D As for charging both ends you might want to find out what your maximum range is before the battery gives out. If your commute both ways is approaching the max...

The power to make cycling make sense

I think the biggest change will come when we once again become more localised in all that we do. I think within a few decades we will all be living and working much more closely again than we have done since the late 20th century. I think transportation options like the electric bike will really...
