Interesting news article on the ExtraEnergy site via here. A while back there was a discussion on the suitability and safety of electric bikes for the youngsters.

Thanks for the link Russ, exactly what I've been pushing for, but I want the lower age restriction changed or removed. Fourteen and over is too late, they can already see the time for a scooter (moped) looming. I know from round here how much kids love these bikes. This week being half term, almost every time I've ridden out of the estate one of them has waved me down to beg a ride, 13 year old Louis the last one, on the Quando.

They'd certainly be interested in that concept Nigel. With the seat position of the Chopper and a rear wheel motor, they'd be doing permanent wheelies, much to their delight! :D

There's a local kid who rides one of those to Sainsburys Russ, cycling on the pavement alongside his mother. It weighs a "ton", only the very low gear lets him pedal it up the hill. Seems pointless when he could be having some real fun on something more rideable.

That link appears to be broken Mike. Here's the one I've fixed, click here.

They don't give the weight, wonder if it's inside the 40 kilo limit?
