    Hall sensor connection

It means the hall sensors are working and the wiring to the connector is ok, but you already tested them the other day. If your new controller doesn’t work then you still have wiring issues with your new controller if you are still getting the 03 error. The symptom still suggests a bad...

    Hall sensor connection

“4. Do you mean set all five P display settings to 1?” No I mean the PAS assistance level, which can be set from 0 to 5 on the display using the up and down buttons. It’s easy to forget to set it when testing. If you leave it at 0 then PAS and throttle won’t work. But you need to get rid of...

    Hall sensor connection

You have to fix the problem that gives error code 03 otherwise nothing will work. The red and black wires must be ok otherwise you wouldn’t have been able to supply voltage to the hall sensors yesterday. So carefully inspect the connections for the yellow, blue and green hall wires. I don’t...

Tomorrow is fine, because you are going to hate what we are going to ask you to do next.

    Hall sensor connection

That’s good news and indicates your hall sensors are working correctly. Now do the same on the pas between white and black by rotating the pedals very slowly. Your pas sensor may have a red light that will flash on and off as well.

    Hall sensor connection

You have to turn the wheel slowly in an anti-clockwise direction as Nealth said, otherwise the hall sensors won’t turn on and off. It is important to do it anti-clockwise and not clockwise because if you have a geared motor the test won’t work because the clutch won’t engage. When you turn the...

    Magnets on pedal sensor

Yeah, forget that. I just checked and P13 can only be set to 5, 8 and 12 magnets.

    Magnets on pedal sensor

That is your display, do you know what make/model of your controller? Some controllers will accommodate all of the magnet variations, but it does mean that you have to move the sensor and disc to the opposite side of the bottom bracket and use a reverse setting in the controller.

    Magnets on pedal sensor

With 6 magnets on your sensor and the controller set to read 12 magnets, then your controller has to sample double the amount of pulses before it kicks in which is why you are experiencing the lag. What controller do you have?

    Hall sensor connection

Yes they do one. This is the controller that I think the op has, coupled with an LCD03 display: https://torquetech.co.uk/collections/controllers-lcd-displays/products/ebike-sensored-brushless-motor-controller-dc-24v-36v-250w-6-fet-15a-kt-sine-wave?variant=11815406403631

    Hall sensor connection

P1 and P2 depend upon the gearing of your motor and how many magnets you have for both speed sensing and number of poles. Do you know what make and model motor you have? Also display manuals are readily available on line and they explain most of the P and C settings, so what model display do...

need bike mechanic for fitting ebike kit ( liverpool )

I think your best course of action would be to part exchange your bike with Halfords against a Carrera Vengeance. You won’t get a particularly good deal on the part exchange and the Vengeance isn’t a particularly good bike and you won’t get the mid drive you have been craving for. But you will...

To prevent a fire in the home, would it be safer to charge my ebike battery dangling outside in a waterproof box on the end a rope out of a window?

Have a dig around in your back garden. With luck you will find an abandoned WW2 Anderson shelter, so you can charge your battery up in there.

    bafang bbs02b question

Talk to Halfords first before buying anything. Halfords hourly rate is quite high. Also create a new post on this forum to see if there are any bike mechanics local to you who would be interested in either fitting or better still supply and fit one for you.

    bafang bbs02b question

He isn’t trying to be rude. He is actually trying to help. Bicycle maintenance is far more complicated than you think and does require mechanical skills and understanding. As well as owning and knowing how to use some special tools. As Nealth suggested, watch plenty of YouTube videos to try...

How to convert a bicycle to an E-bike?

Just to add to your confusion and I haven’t read the entire post, but £350 budget is very small. A decent battery costs that much.

    bafang bbs02b question

I just looked up your bike and it is a 21 speed with a 3 ring on the front. It’s also an ordinary hard tail MTB, so likely to have a 68mm bottom bracket. You need to measure it before buying the motor. The cassette or freewheel and chain can be changed later. The hard part is fitting the motor...

    bafang bbs02b question

I think you should search around on YouTube and watch some videos to learn some basic bike mechanics. Special tools are needed to fit a BBS motor and to change the cassette, although if it’s only 7 cogs on the rear it’s likely to be a freehub. Maybe it would be better if you can find a local...

    bafang bbs02b question

The very first thing you need to do is measure your bottom bracket using a tape measure or ruler. Then you can order the correct size motor for your bike. You may have a 68mm, 73mm, 100mm or even 120mm bottom bracket. A 68mm motor will not fit on a bike that has a 100mm bottom bracket. Here...

    bafang bbs02b question

You are getting confused with the terminology. You keep saying chain when you are referring to chain wheel. The cogs are situated on a cassette mounted on your back wheel. For simplicity the more teeth you have on your chain wheel at the front, the higher your gear ratio is. And the more teeth...
