As Flecc mentioned on few occasions, all converted e-bikes are technically illegal unless owner made an effort and acquired Individual Vehicle Approval. Is there a single person who acquired such approval? If you are such person, please share your experience.

There are no 900W bikes pretending to be 250W. There are bikes with 250W rated motors able to deliver 900W of power. All perfectly legal. There is no EU or UK law limiting power of electric motors used to make e-bikes. You keep mixing two different things and refusing to understand the...

Not only Amps matter. You can easily increase power by increasing voltage. 48V is maximum legal voltage in UK. Yes, more powerful motors do require more amps and usually more volts. For those motors you need a battery and controller able to deliver both.

I prefer 27.5 on mtb.

As much as I like your conversion Pip, I must say folder wouldn't be my first choice for off-road cycling. Lack of front and rear suspension is not good for your back either. I would also advice against front hub, small wheels and rim brakes. Are you happy with how your bike perform?

Why are you looking for somebody who does conversions? All you need is to mount second battery somewhere on your frame and swap them when needed.

Very tidy conversion. Well done. I expect it is easy to put in car boot after you remove battery. ...also cheap. I guess total price was under £800

It is normal for battery to be sent separately. Is rest of the kit sent from Poland or from China?
